Does anyone know how nice the base housing is?I've heard different rumors about some being so dirty that you end up getting some of your BAH in your paycheck, and I've heard that there are some that…Continue

Anyone doing anything this weekend? I know my husband and I are going to see Paranormal Activity 3 at 8pm tonight with some of his friends from C School if anyone wants to join. I havent met any of them yet but its a start..
Also I definitly think that anyone who is here should get together this coming week and get coffee or something. There is a couple little restaurant/cafes around that we could go to. Let me know who is interested and I will look around and think of some options!
We had to pay like $200 or something the day we moved in and then our first months rent is Nov 1st and we moved in October 10th. But we did not have to pay first and last months rent. And our first utilities bill isnt due until Dec 1st.
When we found out we were moving here, we decided that we didnt want to have to deal with housing or a waitlist, or going through the navy for a home. I just went to bing.com and looked up apartments/houses for rent in Kings Bay, GA and i found a whole mess of apartment and housing offices that either emailed or called me within in a few days and the places were move in ready. I know with Brant Creek, they called that same day and said we could move in the following day if we wanted. We just had to fill out a simple application and get approved, and with the Navy as your main source of income there wasnt really any question about the approval.
Britany - yes I live off base!
Janel - we had to turn our air on too haha! I will let you know what I do about the gym tonight, we have a mini gym thing at our apartment complex with a treadmill bike elliptical and like 4 basic machines so idk if i am just going to stay here or not quite yet!
The weather here is amazing today, we even had to shut the windows and turn the air on because it was so warm last night...us northeast ppl have problems with heat lol.
Britany: we live in an apartment just down the road from base.. base is nice there just is not a whole lot there. Some bases have a lot of shopping and things to do, Kings bay just doesnt really. Good thing the gym is nice.
Sara: Good luck on your interview. Im still going to the gym tonight around 630 just not going to spin class. But the target is in yulee. Its almost by ferdindina beach which is about 20 mins away
