Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This Group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of July(although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!
If you have July ship out issues/questions etc., need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in July, ...then this is the place to be. :-)
Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...

Things to do in the last month before your future sailor leaves
(Click on the link)
Once your recruit has arrived at RTC, the next stop here is to join the group Boot Camp for Moms (and loved ones) Hangout and ask questions in this group until your form letter arrives.
Approx two to three weeks after your recruit arrives you will receive the "Form Letter". The form letter will include their Ship# , DIV #, their mailing address, PIR date, and the Security Access Form. The Security Access form needs to be completed and sent back to your recruit ASAP. Keep this letter in a safe place, it has the information you will need.
The date that is on the form letter is the official date for your Recruit's Training Groups PIR (graduation), Things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets.
After you have received the form letter, join the group for your recruits PIR. There you can ask questions about PIR, training, hotels etc. Those groups will be posted in the Boot Camp for Mom's group.
Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)
**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Fitness Standards"The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes 37 seconds for female recruits."

Mine got to tell me about when I would receive the bow, the form letter, and my supposed next call. I was able to tell her you can do it and I am soo proud and I love you!
I hope they were not messing around too bad. My daughter arrived on the 17th. I hope she's not having that problem. H*** I hope she's not messing around haha!
When I get my call it went like this. Hi, I can't talk. I am here and will call you in 2-3 weeks. Love you, have to go now, bye. The end all I got to say was love you too.
mrstower, your post concerned me last night when I read it but for some reason I can't reply from my phone (anyone else have this problem?). Guys are messing alot? I hope your son isn't having a hard time. He was able to add that into his phone call? Mine was so short and scripted that I was able to squeeze in an "I love you" after he finished a sentence...Iol. I got one back at the end of the call...whew. I do miss him so much
mrstower, Luke's mom, Always a mom,
How are you all doing today? Got thru yesterday, was hard to sleep the night she left cuz I kept thinking that she wasn't getting sleep so why should I. lol, we're just a little crazy, huh?! I also had the "went home at lunch, saw her car and thought, cool, Ericka's home (she wasn't usually when I would go home for lunch) then it hit me. I'm sure we'll be bombarded with those kind of things for the rest of our lives...:) I really just want the inside scoop from her about what's happening and how her days go.
Hi Always a mom~ Sounds as though you did well, too :) It's strange that I can't text her "where are you? What's your plan? Who are you with and when will you be home?" Gosh, now that I think about it, what a relief, haha!!!
Hello!
I will be looking for the mom/wife/GF etc. who will be interested in creating the next PIR group... 09/07/2012
This TG will start with Div 279 and have a Performing Division of 943.
New TG’s are usually posted on RTC website on Mondays (unless there is a Federal Holiday then it is Tuesday). Lately, it has been posted later in the week. Then back to Mondays! So you can see what I mean about no exacts.
BC can be anywhere from 7.5 to 9 weeks. It is also possible for recruits to arrive in the same week…or on the same day…but have different PIR dates. Your recruiter may have your recruit’s ship/division as early as 72 hours after arriving at BC. I will take this ship/div # for the purpose of starting a PIR group BUT please wait for the form letter that your recruit will send home to address your mail and send it. Sometimes recruits move around. The address your recruiter gets oftentimes is incomplete or has too much information that is not necessary for the address. (or if you just can't wait you can compare the address to the generic one on the RTC Website )
Folks, if it is something you think you'd be interested in...Friend me and send me a message . I have step-by-step instructions and it is a fun thing to do!
Thank You!
FTLW
...to all the new "moms"!
