Hello everyone and welcome to the Navy!!! This Group was started for the loved one of DEPPERS leaving in the month of October (although everyone is welcome).......What year you say? Well ......any year!

If you have October ship out issues/questions etc., need specific information, (or have some to share) or just want to talk to someone that is where you are, with a Recruit leaving for and arriving in BC in October, ...then this is the place to be. :-)

Remember, don't "miss 'em while you're with them!" :) Make the most of every precious moment together before they leave. This will be a big transition for both of you! We'll be here for you every step of the way...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once your recruit has arrived at RTC, the next stop here is to join the group Boot Camp for Moms (and loved ones)  Hangout and ask questions in this group until your form letter arrives.

***New news just out today (9/25/19) from the US Navy Recruit Training Command FaceBook page:
Attention families and friends of RTC: Previously, upon arrival to boot camp, recruits would box up their civilian belongings and ship it to their choice of destination. Our new procedure now has those boxes being stored locally and will be returned to the recruits the day before graduation. The new procedure went into effect this week beginning with Div. 409 in Training Group 52.

Approx two to three weeks after your recruit arrives you will receive the "Form Letter". The form letter will include their Ship# , DIV #, their mailing address, PIR date, and the Security Access Form. The Security Access form needs to be completed and sent back to your recruit ASAP. Keep this letter in a safe place, it has the information you will need.

The date that is on the form letter is the official date for your Recruit's Training Groups PIR (graduation), Things can always change for an individual Recruit (due to illness, injury, failure to pass a final test etc.)! So, we always recommend that you plan, if possible, to purchase Refundable or Exchangeable plane tickets.

After you have received the form letter, join the group for your recruits PIR. There you can ask questions about PIR, training, hotels etc. Those groups will be posted in the Boot Camp for Mom's group.

Thanks for joining us. We hope you will realize you are not alone, and will soon make new friends, plus feel supported and encouraged! :)

**It is very important that your future Sailor be physically fit prior to shipping to the RTC (these are new standards beginning 1/1/2018) and that he be able to pass an initial run test. See Navy Fitness Standards"The initial run standard is evaluated on the 1.5 mile run of the first Physical Fitness Assessment (PFA) at boot camp. The initial run standard for male recruits will be 16 minutes 10 seconds and 18 minutes 37 seconds for female recruits."

ArmaniMom, some command will allow the Junior Sailors to take leave over the holiday stand down and go in the hole on Leave and others won't. It all depends on the command. Even if the command does allow Leave, it does not mean that your Sailor will be home on Christmas Day. (Check your My Page and leave me a comment on my My Page with your recruit's rating.)

Does A school have holiday break for Christmas? My dtr mentioned something about coming home before going to A school. Still waiting but I think her PIR IS 12/11. Also @Beth my dtr left early Wednesday morning on the 14th from San diego to RTC. She called me around 6pm for finAl call. no form letter yet. GOT THE BOX IN ON TUESDAY

Here are the PIR groups for the October shippers:

PIR: 11/25/2015 TG 03 - 10 Divisions (019-026, 801 and 903) 4 guests (This is the Thanksgiving TG and PIR is on Wednesday. Those flying out will most likely fly out on Friday, so if your Sailor will fly out, plan to leave late Friday or Saturday if you are able. If your Sailor will stay in GL, plan to leave late Sunday or on Monday.)

PIR: 12/04/2015 TG 04 - 11 Divisions (027-034, 802, 803, and 904) 4 guests

PIR: 12/11/2015 TG 05 - 12 Divisions (035-044, 905 and 906) 4 guests

NO PIR 12/18/2015 or 12/25/2015

Click on the date and join to connect with others with loved ones training with your recruit.

Our daughters must've flown out together from San Diego! My daughter was the blond tall girl. I got her box yesterday also. I'm so glad you're on this website! Were you the family that we talk to a little bit?

Got my daughters box yesterday also. She shipped out from San Diego on the 14th. I bet your son was one of the ones that swore in with her she was one of the three girls that left that day the tall blonde. Let me know when you get your letter and I'll do the same. So anxious to see when they graduate.

I got my call to last night late. My daughter sounded scared. She faced timed when she landed in Chicago from the plane. She told me it finally hit her that she was nervous. I'm keeping her in prayer and waiting for those letters counting the days down until graduation. I'm thinking of all you moms praying for your kids too.

Hang in there NCNavymom!! My daughter left on the 6th and she sounded awesome on that "I'm here" call. Got my kid in a box Monday. Waiting for the form letter. All this waiting is the hardest thing ever but, it is worth it!! This is my second go round so I kinda know what to expect but that doesn't make it any easier. When the letters start coming in, it's a little easier. (((Hugs)))
