OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I made all of ours for PIR by phone and we checked in without having him with us. Although you do have to give your sailors name. I do believe they make sure the name is on the grad list.

Garda I highly suggest the Navy Lodge it's right down the street from the Base, well it's actually on the base they even give you a pass for the NEX which is just a couple of block from the hotel.

LynnDear, Thanks so much. I am originally from Ponchatoula La, but I now live in Amarillo Tx I have family and friends there still but it doesn't seem like anyone has heard anything. I guess all we can do is keep them in our prayers.
