Hi LA Moms!
Wasn't Nola Fleet Week awesome!? From the sound of the 21-gun salute as the US Navy ships passed Algiers coming into New Orleans to the moment they sailed away with crisp white uniforms manning the rails, it was inspiring! We met parents whose sailors and marines were on these ships and parents like us whose sailor would never enjoy a port visit on the continental US. There is no one who truly understands our love and devotion for our sailors and marines more than our fellow parents of our sailors and marines.
The politeness and professionalism of our US Navy and Marines shown through all week. We toured every US Navy ship and were delighted to meet sailors who asked about our sailor and then went out of their way to show us the destroyer areas where he works daily.
Can't wait till Fleet Week returns in 2015!
That is all.
Hi all!
So glad to see so many checking in!
Is anyone going to New Orleans for Fleet Week next month? Ships arrive in port Tuesday 4/17, and it ends sometime over the weekend with an air show. The ships will have hours that we can tour! Maybe we can get together that week!? Would love to hear more about your sailors!
Emptynestr, my sailor is SAR too!
Rudysm, we started out in BUDS too. Be sure to join the Prebuds and BUDS groups as they form. I remember...
