Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Have been kind of following the posts, and talked to my son, an avid WOW player, this afternoon, and I mentioned League of Legends, and he said, "how'd you know about that?" and I said, I don't know, and he said, "no really, mom, how have you heard about that game?". It's so funny because he was just given it by another sailor, and his old mom knew what it was! Thanks ladies for keeping me informed!!! LOL I don't post much, but I do so enjoy reading all the posts and learning about what's going on over there even though I can't be there!!!

Dolphin, mommajo & jeanne - to be honest I dont think my kids missed any of that 'new fangled" stuff :)
I wonder if any amish have ever enlisted? they would proably have to be excommunicated. I know in my sons BC div there was a Wicken and I think maybe a mennonite or something similar.

Jeanne and Dolphin~ So nice to know there are other "Amish" families:) My son lovingly called us Amish due to no cable, recycling as much as possible, and using organic products. It's great to know I'm in a good group:)

Just wondering if there's a way I can get rid of my husbands student loans all together?? I'm confused about it though, because my husband has gotten them knocked off by a certain percentage since he's Navy now, but other people have told me they signed a form and sent it to their student loan place and they got them taken off completely.. so if anyone knows that'll be great! I could sure use that 250 a month for something else, that's for sure
