Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

Kimmydee, yes, you can send things UPS, but DON'T. Use the flat rate boxes from the USPS if you can.

Hey Kimmydee! I'm following you! LOL. -----Anyway, I think I've been a member of this group for a while, but forgot! My daughter just got there today, and I'm excited for this phase of her Navy experience. Any and all advice and words of wisdom will be appreciated !

Thanks, Pepecola, I will check out San Antonio MA group. Congratulations on your son's progess through A-School. Good luck to him in San Diego. I think that's a great place, but have only been there twice. If my son gets stationed there, I will probably use all my frequent flier miles!. Thanks again.

Hi Jane-
Be sure to connect to the San Antonio MA group, lots of great info and awesome people! My son is there and this week he got his first order out of San Diego. He graduates Sept 3rd. You will get to hear from him often! Good luck and welcome to the group.

Hello ladies, I am new to this group, but not new to N4Ms. My son will be beginning his MA school in TX soon. I have been scrolling through some of the comments and have already learned about OC spray and baby shampoo. I will be sure to pass the info on to him. Thanks so much and looking forward to getting to know you.

The graduation isn't as showy, but very meaningful. Those sailors are put through their paces. Congratulaitons to the new MAs

Sara, the MAA graduation is VERY "small beans" compared to PIR ceremonies. We weren't able to go to that one, but her Uncle lived about 8 hours away from SA, and he went to be there for her. It was VERY nice of him to cover that base for us. If I could have, I would have been at that one also :(
Comment by lemonelephant on August 11, 2010 at 7:40pm
Sara, it is not likely now that the location for A-School will change if he was told Lackland. A couple of years ago, yes. MAs went to one of 3 places then; now it's pretty much Lackland.

Becky.....think you've got the right idea. Mine was not grad n go when she had her PIR. I guess it just depends on how the classes are scheduled to start in SA. When Kelcie graduated, they actually "held" the PIR class before hers for 2 weeks and hers for a week before they all started classes together. They were held in SA, but everybody that went to the PIR got the weekend with their sailor.
Brenda Sue......DANG!!!! Top 10 with Betty Crocker, thats awesome.
And EVERYBODY....be sure to vote for Molly's Adopt a Sailor group in the Pepsi contest. You can vote everyday throughout the month via text or on the pepsi website. Check it out if you aren't familiar with it!!
