Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

Just spoke to my son, he is over in SA for MAA school and he said next Friday they get sprayed! He just got down there 3 days ago and sounds like he is getting settled in. I guess his roommate was also in his BC division so that's nice. I guess he also bumped into a few other fellas that were part of his DEP program back at home.

My daughter didn't mention that she got a certificate. I just emailed to ask her and let her know to keep it safe.

Did y'all know they get a certificate for completing the OC courese? It is not just sprayed in their eyes - they have to "fight" several people - kinda like going through an obstacle course with their eyes BURNING!!

My daughter just called and said she got the OC Spray today. She said it's the worst thing she's ever done. Anyone else hear from their MA's?

Kimmydee, my son graduates the same day as your daughter and he is going to A school in San Antonio. He also has a buddy from boot camp that is going. Do you know if they are grad and go yet? I'm sure all that's going to the same A school will do the same thing?( Grad and go or not)

Kimberly, yep, I remember the "River Walk". It seems like that's THE place to go for the kids in San Antonio. I know they got big discounts at the amusement park, and I think they got in totally free to the local "Sea World". Lots of restaurants in the area also. Kelcie has been in almost 3 1/2 years and still loves her job. What is it with sailors and "ink"? Kelc has gotten several since she has been in. They are pretty.... as tat's go, but I see lots of "laser work" in her future at some point }:( Oh well, whatcha gonna do?

Lots of studying at MA school. They have a room not a dorm, and much more freedom. You can talk with your sailor.

Kimmydee, "A" school is a LOT different than bootcamp. They have a TON more freedom. They can have their cell phones, laptops etc. There is a TON of stuff for them to do in San Antonio, and military discounts up the wazoo! Physically speaking, it was more intense than bootcamp. That's good that she has a friend going with her. Kelcie had 2 friends from bootcamp that were in "A" school with her.
