Hi WonderTwins'mom,
I don't personally know anyone who has a sailor in Diego Garcia, but you can search the groups on this site or on facebook to find a group of mom's that can give you some good insight and information. If you hit a dead end let me know and I'll see what I can find out for you.
Hi Kevsmom,
You will be able to communicate with his via his cell phone/ facebook etc. There are also a number of Wifi calling programs available if he doesn't have international calling for free on his cell phone. T-mobile (believe it or not) has free international calling on their plans. They seem to be one of the best. Once he gets out there the other MA's will help him sort out everything and show him "the ropes"
tmansmom58, my son is dealing with the same thing. He has bought all the cleaning supplies. He got written up for the first failed inspection. If they failed this last one he would have the civilian clothes option removed. Fortunately he did pass but cleaned the place himself. He also has asked to be moved elsewhere. Still waiting for a response. Its funny how he wasn't so clean at home now he has no option but to be clean.
Tmansmom58 My son is in Mayport FL, He is frustrated his roommate is a messy person when he arrived to his room it was a mess the bathroom disgusting and he has not evenseen the guy only knows that he was there because he came and left pizza and a towel out, He has asked to change rooms but they told him no,super crazy the said that they really don't care about them so to bad deal with it not sure how to direct him on this.
