Afloat Corrections Specialist "C" School was about 4 weeks. I think MWDH "C" School is about 2 months.
boocoo, some MA's go their entire career without going to a "C" School. My Sailor was in nearly four years when he reenlisted and went to "C" School in San Antonio for Afloat Corrections Specialist when that billet came open and he had the opportunity to have duty on a ship. I attended his "C" School graduation and saw him frocked as MA2 the same day (he could have been frocked prior to that, but they planned it so that I could attend). Many MA's never have duty on a seagoing vessel other than those for Harbor Patrol and duties when a ship comes into the port. Chriswick's Sailor went to MWDH "C" School to be a Dog Handler in San Antonio after being in just over 2 years. There is also a "C" School for Kennel Master that is at San Antonio. Those are the only "C" Schools. http://navynavadmin.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/necvol2.pdf gives the NEC Codes and requirements for each. Click NEC Series 2000-2999. The MA NEC Codes begin at 2002. Some codes require other training rather than "C" School. MA's receive all kinds of trainings while at their commands and it is important that that training be recorded. Dog Handler is the only NEC Code that is open for those who are E-1 to E-3, but not everyone who requests it is accepted. A Sailor would need to be recommended for training for any of the NEC Codes and for some trainings within a command..
What kind of C schools does the MA program offer? Where are they and how long do they last? Or does anyone have any links to share, so that I can look up the info. on the C schools?
Thanks Chriswick. We are looking forward to it. He started classes today. It's so nice to be able to communicate with him now that he is in A school.
Kandra71, Graduation Info for Lackland AFB - Navy MA graduation; Places to s... may have info for you. Your Sailor may have places wants to take you or he may be ready to leave town.
New Navy Mom, graduation is almost always on Friday morning. My Sailor's graduation was on a Thursday afternoon due to a change in command that was happening on Friday. See Break down week by week, within San Antonio MA's. I invite you to join San Antonio MA's.
Getting ready to head to San Antonio for my son's graduation from MA school on Friday 10-25-13 . Any suggestions of where to go or what to do while we are there?
bcmadness, the discussion, Break down week by week, within San Antonio MA's will let you know what happens at NTTC Lackland (San Antonio). There have been a few changes in the last few years in the journey to being an MA.
