Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

That is a bit steep chriscwick. How long was he over there?

Boocoo, we didn't visit. Chris discouraged us. This is his first time out from under family & on his own. He was really homesick, but wanted to focus on his new life, career & growing as a man. He is very driven to succeed & does get hyper focused. We gave him that space. During his time there the most inexpensive flights were around $1,200 per person. A bit steep for us.

My Chris went straight to "A School" after BC. We did have time on leave before he left for Bahrain for his three.

After boot camp you can spend a few hours with your Sailor. Then he will have to go back to the boot camp baracks. But you can see him or her off at the airport. After A school they should have up to 14 days of leave. They have it as long as they do not flunk out of the A-school. My husband told me a few people flunked out of the MA school and they were send "undesignated" into the Navy. If that happens they get no leave. But they get up to 14 days after A school is over to come home or do what ever.

Is there a liberty anytime after bc and A school.

Bird MomShip13Div363:

Bahrain. Is very safe compared to other parts of the middle east. It is very up scale and wealthy. Not much happens there. It is not a war zone unlike other parts. A few of my husband's friends are there and I have heard a lot of the guys say that they have loved it while there. If he goes there he will be making great money and possibly have a few chances to rank up. My husband did not go since I did not want to be away from him for two years. With being an MA if he is not married he could be put anywhere. The only way to stay stateside for sure would to get in to the PRP program. But they are very selective on who they take. If he wants to do PRP, he can't have even one speeding ticket. MA's only get to choose their orders if they are in the top 5% or so of the test scores.
