Hello
We look forward to hearing about your sailors journey. How he/she likes being an MAA (MA) and which kind of job they are doing and how you are doing knowing what your sailor does for a living.
NOTE: Please help keep our sailors safe. Don't give out exact locations.Example: If he/she is in Iraq you can say Iraq but I would not say the name of the camp or a town near the camp. If they are on a ship don't give the last known location. Although some of that is public we don't in anyway want to jeopardize them.

Caitsmamma, the boxes in the Family Pack are the same ones that you can get at the Post Office. I like that it contains tape that lasts quite a while. I replenish my supply of labels and boxes at the Post Office as needed since the Post Office is nearby for me. See Free USPS Packaging for Family and Friends of Service Members.

Hey y'all, got a phone number 1-800-610-8734 for you to the USPS to order & have them send out a M litany Care Kit to you. It's a free service. They'll send you various sizes of "If It Fits, It Ships" military boxes, along with tape, customs forms & protective sleeves for same. They saved me a lot of time, trouble & a bit of money when shipping to FPOs & military addresses. Used them to send goodies to the sand for three years! Worked well.

Hi Caitsmamma, I just shipped my son a package yesterday and used the Priority mail boxes. In previous shipments, I have packaged them myself and paid more for shipping. This was by far the easiest and cheapest. Just be aware you will have to indicate the contents and put a $ value on it. I use a local shipping business versus the post office, and the paperwork is all done online and then printed out. Much more efficient than the PO. It only takes a week to get my son's package from Cal. to Bahrain. Best of luck!

Hi everyone!  I vaguely remember that the US Post Office provides special flat rate boxes that we can use to send our care packages in.  I went on the USPS website, but I am unsure if these boxes are any different than the usual flat rate boxes they provide.  Does anyone know?  Thanks.

@Krose018,

Congrats on your marriage!  I hope you have a wonderful day Friday!  I'll send you a personal message here in a minute.  I would love to stay in contact with you because yes, I'll probably need a list of apartments and all kinds of other things along the way.  I'm SO overwhelmed and I haven't even begun! lol

@ Sweetlove143,

I know how you feel. And  it just so happens that my fiance just got out of the MA-A school. He has orders to go to Kings Bay. We are going to get married this friday and we will be going down there next week to report to his orders. If you want someone to talk to or need any advice I would be more than willing to speak with you and help you out. I am going to ask you a question. Just go a head and send me a personal message after you see this post. Is your boyfriend doing Navy Police or the PRP program? Also do you need a list of apartments and what not? I would be willing to even chat with you over the phone if you need some support. I know the feeling you have right now.

Hi everyone.  I'm a new Navy girlfriend and my sailor is an MA in King's Bay.  I was wondering if anyone has an MA stationed there?  I'll be moving there in a couple of months and I'd like to get to know more about what to expect from someone else's perspective - not that my sweetie doesn't tell me everything I need to know, it's just different coming from someone else who's been through it.  :)  Any advice?  Anything you wish someone would have told you about what it's like being with an MA?  Anyone familiar with King's Bay?  I'd love to get to know anyone who might be there with their MA, as I won't know anyone else when I get there!  Thanks, Jamie.
