Hi everybody!! New to the group-son just has his PIR tonight so I figured it was time to switch to this page instead of boot camp! He's leaving for A school tomorrow, not sure what happens from here. I have learned quite a bit from this site but not enough to know anything about MA.This is my next step so school me on what to expect please! Thanks!! :0)
My daughters class graduates tomorrow from A school, but half her class hasnt recieved thier orders with thier tickets! Anyone else going through the same thing?
My husband just got orders to Oceana in Virginia Beach! As an MA I guess he will be guarding the planes? Anyone have more information about what they do at air squadrons? Do they deploy with them on the ships? Thanks!
Hugs all, yes it does occasionally happen, happened to mine, hope all is well with you and yours.
proudmama, to add to what has been said, it would be unusual for someone fresh out of "A" School to get to go to "C" School for Military Working Dog (MWD) Handler although it does occasionally happen. If your Sailor wants to pursue a billet as a MWD Handler, she needs to take every opportunity to get to know the dogs, handlers, and Kennel Master at her first duty station (or at Lackland if she has time) so that when she is eligible, she can be considered for "C" School and an open billet in that NEC (Navy Enlisted Classification Code). That would also help her to know if that is what she wants to do because after "C" School, she would have at leat a 4 year commitment to MWD. (See http://navynavadmin.files.wordpress.com/2010/03/necvol2.pdf and click on NEC SERIES 2000-2999.)
