Betsy- so good to hear your news about Adam. You will have to tell us/me what SO and IS stand for. Other than what Paul is and a few other rates I'm ignorant.

Have a wonderful time in FL visiting with him. And wouldn't it be wonderful if he got VA!

How's your packing coming along?

Cori, I think we do some home girlfriends on here.  Stay with us, we would love to get to know you.

Lori, Yes!  I will be back "home" by May 18!  Woohoo!  Yippee!  Can anyone see how excited I am?  I will definitely be at PF Changs.  Just name the date!

Things are looking great now with Adam.  He was given a list of jobs for his re-classing and there were about 50 jobs on it, including SO (which he isn't going to attempt, lol)  He is now thinking about IS, which I'm kinda hoping for, since he could end up in Dam Neck, VA for that.  They gave him a week to choose, which works out wonderfully, since I'm heading to Pensacola on Wed. to spend Easter weekend together.  :)   He doesn't have to let them know his choice until next Monday.  Yay!  He sent me the list and there's got to be at least 50 different rates on it.  He is taking his time and checking the CREO rates on them, with the hopes of picking one with a 1 or 2.  (His AT was a 3).  I told him today on the phone that things happen for a reason and this has opened up a lot of new options for him.  He is very happy now because he has so many new choices to pick from.  He was only given 3 choices as a Depper  :(  He now thinks that his recruiter was not very good.  He said that some of the other possibilities look like more of what he would like to do anyway.  God does work in mysterious, but great ways!  I loved hearing the excitement in his his voice today on the phone.

Linda- wonderful news! Congrats to your sailor boy! My son said many went through BS sick. He had a respiratory infection almost the whole time he was there. Coughing throughout BS. Once your son gets out of that germ infested place he will get better. I never asked what rate he was- nukes? Wow!

Hi everyone, My son is a sailor!  I got the call about 5 pm as I was coming home from teaching a class at UMES.  I am so glad that he was in the first group of battlestations.  He said his division did awesome!  He sounded good but a bit tired of course.  He has been sick and did battlestations with a fever.  We leave next Thursday for PIR on 4/22.  I can't wait until next Friday!  Thank you for all of your kind words and prayers for my son.  This group has helped me get through these last few weeks.  After graduation, he is off to South Carolina for Nuke School.  Thanks again.

Linda- I know you are anxiously waiting for that call now. We didn't get ours till the afternoon [ about noon] when we were already at GL. When do you leave for his PIR? Praying for your son.

let us know when you can ok.
