Hadn't heard that Cindy. Those poor people have suffered so much already.

Hismom- what is the HT rate? Paul was at GL from BC till last week [almost a year to the day]. His school is also long. He will have 6 months of C school at SD- but he is not complaining! Said he feels like he's on vacation with the palm trees all around. Plus it is NOTHING like A school at GL.

wow C school already!  I was told by the recruiter that he will have to work as a HT for two years then they will probably send him to C school.

Wow I guess you were nervous going and not knowing he passed.  UGH.  I look at the videos and think "Wow that is really cool"  but I am not doing it lol.

Hismom- I remember it well! We were already at GL when we got our sailor call! His was the last group to go. Talk about nerve wracking!
He will do well. I haven't talked to a sailor yet who didn't actually enjoy the experience! My son graduated last May and is now in C school SD.
Let us know when you get that call! I know you will be glued to your phone tomorrow!

Wish me luck.  I am about to become a Sailor's Mom.  My son has Battle Stations tonight!!!  Nervous Nelly here.  At least they are among the first group to go.  I will let you all know about the call when it comes.

Columbia is not to far from me Betsy. A half hour or so.

Cindy, we will rent for probably about 6 months to a year in the Columbia or Ellicott city area. We are hoping to buy another house after that, but we want to save some more for a down payment

Betsy- poor guy! he must be exhausted. But there is an end to it all. It just looks VERY far away at the moment!

Do you know where you will move to yet when you get here?

Thank you, Cindy.  He has been going to the instruction classes too.  Poor guy, he said he is in classes from 6:30a.m. til 6:00p.m., and then some nights he has 3 or 4 nights of studying.   Yikes!

Thank you Lori.  I definitely can't wait to get back there and meet you.   :)

Cindy, that's great that your son is happy at Oceano.  My son said that the instructor told them that a lot of them would go there for C school.  My son is ATI.

Yea Cindy! So glad Paul is onto his C classes now. My Paul called last night and described his "day" I said that sounded like a nice gig and he said he feels like he's on vacation! Class at 8,  2 hour break for lunch and then finishes at 4! Surrounded by warmth and palm trees- and getting paid on top of that! Yeah it sounds VERY nice.
