Happy belated Betsy! So glad you got your house sold. Great news! And I am GREEN with envy over your ring! What a wonderful boy [ man!] you have. Can you clone a couple?

Well I think you'll need more than just adrenaline to make that drive- maybe lots of caffeine too! Safe driving Betsy- have a wonderful time with your sailor.

Keep us updated on your arrival here and about your time in FL when you get back.

Good afternoon ladies.  I have been MIA for a little over a month now, due to the sale of our house in NM.

Cindy, Congratulations to your sailor and his new assignment.  How wonderful that he is to be so close to you.

Lori, I guess your sailor made it in time for his curfew.  SD is so awesome!

Joanne, my prayers are with your mom.  ((hugs))

Hi to all the new moms who have joined since I have been gone.  :)

Well, as I said, we have sold our house in New Mexico.  Woohoo!  We didn't make very much on it, but we didn't lose anything either, so that's good.  In our area, a lot of people have had to go to the closing table with money in hand, but luckily we didn't.  I am now living in a small extended stay hotel in Albuquerque until mid May.  We have 2 daughters in college at the Univ. of NM and I don't want to drive back to Maryland until my one daughter graduates and my other daughter finishes up with her spring semester.  My oldest son is staying in NM to get his Master's degree, so that gives me more time with him before I leave also.

I am planning a big drive to Pensacola Easter week to see my sailor.  I can't wait!  He is struggling a bit with his A school, (AT) and is pretty excited that I'm going to be there for a few days.  It will be a long drive from here (22 hours) but I'm sure that the shear adrenaline in anticipation of seeing my sailor, will keep me awake and alert.

I had a birthday about a week and a half ago and my wonderful sailor gave me a mother's ring.  :)  He talked to the other 4 children, picked it out and ordered it.  It's supposed to be a joint gift from all of them, but I'm sure that he was the one who footed most of the bill for it.  My oldest daughter is un-employed right now and my oldest son is struggling financially as a grad student.  He did say that my two college girls did help him with the cost.   Here is a picture of my ring.

well Paul is on his way to SD. Left him at the airport this afternoon. His first leg was to NY and the plane was delayed so the airlines had to put him on different airlines when he got to NY to make it to SD before his 11pm curfew. He seemed a little anxious at the change in plans.

Here's a momma bear story- we got to the check in counter and we had our 4 year old grand son who was so excited to see his nephew off. The lady said we couldn't go to the gate with our son. I said we did at Christmas. She said no. We went to the USO and I asked them and they said we could and to go back and ask for a supervisor. We went to another lady [ same airlines] and she said of course I just need your ID's! Pays to be persistent! I was not going to take a no for an answer! GRRRR!

Monica, I live in Olney and have some toys I could go through to donate. Where are you?

Joanne- was praying for you today. Wondering how you are and your moms condition is. Did jason make it ok?

I would love to get together. A BYOL sounds nice- the weather WILL get warmer right? Though we could always have a back up plan just in case of rain. Weekends are better for me.

No news yet. He said he won't know till Thur. So in the mean time I'll just keep Fri open as I have no idea when to go and pick him up. It seems weird to me that he needs a "ticket" since no one does paper tickets anymore! And if they already booked the flight why can't they just electronically send it to his email? He said they don't tell you anything as they treat everyone as if they are still in HS and they'll lose their papers.

So neat your Paul is loving it there. You don't need a "buddy" to sign out with?
