Joanne, I knew you were gone but didn't know when you were back. This is so hard for you and I 'm so sorry I really am. I'm sure she was grateful to have you there and care for her. I will say a prayer for your mom. And you. Hang in there.

Welcome Liz! How are you doing with your son being gone? There really doesn't seem to be very many MD moms. It's nice to add another! Where is Finksburg? I am not familiar with that. Are you on the boot camp group?

Hello all from maryland.  My son is in boot camp now for 9 days.  He is on Ship 9 Div 131.  Anyone else have someone in boot camp now?

Liz

Cindy, that's so awesome that your son will be so close by.  :)

Monica- thank you! I have never heard of " Ally" but I will pass the info on. He had paid off all his debt while in BC but his credit score is very low. And Navy Fed was quoting 13.8%! Even if his dad and I cosigned and we have excellent credit. I don't think that's right. If they are in the military then they are assured of having a salary. Then they denied him altogether. This is good to know there is another place to try.

Perfect! Does he report to his duty station first and then come to you? Paul was trying to buy a car and was going to get a loan through Navy Fed but he was denied because of his credit score. He was bummed cause he was hoping to move his stuff in his own car.

Cindy- awesome news! He'll be close enough to visit or to come home on long weekends! How will he get his stuff here from FL? That is so great! I'm really hoping Paul gets VA too.

Did anyone read the article about Bill Cosby in the Post today?

I uploaded a video from the Feb 8 Swear In Ceremony at MEPS, Fort Meade, MD.  I am looking to connect with anyone from the Maryland area.  Take a look at the video, I captured many faces that were not my son's.
