Lori, My daughter turned 19 in boot camp. She struggled a lot. Her phones call were always with tears and her letters werent much better. She swore in on 3/5/13  and wasnt suppose to ship out til 9/2013 but we got a call about 5 days later telling her they wanted her to ship out on 3/20/13. She didnt spend any time in DEP. She didnt know the chain of command , the 11 general orders or even the sailors creed. She also had a very hard time with sit ups. Anyway she obviously struggled but she MADE it! Im very proud of her. Im thankful for this website and glad to communicate with other moms in MD or anywhere really.

Carol, wow. This is a roller coaster of a ride but I promise when all is said and done you will be so happy and amazed. Words to live by "no new is good news" You can tell your daughter when you talk to her or write her that a sailor that just graduated said the confidence chamber was kind of fun and BS21 was no problem!  She said its all about team work!

Carol- that's wonderful! Welcome to our group! June will be here before you know it. Have you heard from your daughter much? How is she doing? I used to run to the mailbox on the days I typically got a letter from my son. I cherished every letter I got cause you know boys - they aren't as wordy as girls!

Welcome bonitacruz congrats on your new sailor! Carol forgive me if I missed you before- is this your first time on here as well? If so welcome to you!

How old are your sailors ladies what rates are they? Tell us about yourselves if you like. This is a group of wonderful moms!

Joanne, take pics of your new kitchen- I want to see it. Glad the kids are doing fine and Kev is settling in and making friends.

Hi Carol, how long has it been since graduation for your sailor? My daughter is still in (A) school. I'm learning the ropes as a new Navy mom. I have a lot of military in my family but obviously this is different being my daughter and all.

Its official, I have a wonderful Sailor girl! graduated BC 5/17/13. I'm still coming down off of an emotional roller coaster. Thank Gosh for N4moms.

Brandon's mom- I'm sure your son is very relieved that bc is over! Isn't the ceremony awesome? It is 3 years this month since my son graduated. He stayed in GL for A school as well [ was there during the "epic" snow storm!] but couldn't wait to leave. Went to SD for C school and that's where he got stationed. He loves it there! I'm afraid he may never leave and live back east.

Mickey- that's neat you spotted your son right away. I couldn't find mine until the end. They all looked alike!
