Betsy- that's awesome news! Congrats to that young man of yours!
Adam emailed me this morning and told me that he was selected for the Blue Jacket of the Quarter for his department! He is now in the running for Blue Jacket of the Quarter for the ship! :)
Joanne, Yes, she told me when she saw the picture that I posted, that she is good friends with you. :) Isn't that cool that we know the same people? I told her that we get together ever so often and I've known you for a couple of years too. The world really is a small place.
Brandonsmom, he is on his way back now from an 8 month deployment in the Persian Gulf. He is stationed in Washington state on an aircraft carrier. He will return to the states very soon. :)
Hi Brandonsmom, :) It's great to "see" you on here. I know that hearing your son's voice was like music to your ears. This is a great group of ladies on here and I know you will love them. My son is Adam and he is currently deployed, but due to come home very soon, but I'm sure you already knew that. ;)
Ladies, Brandonsmom is my brother in law's sister and also a very good friend of another one of my sisters. :)
It was great seeing all of you ladies yesterday. :) I hope we are able to do it again very soon.
Joanne, thank you for the recipe. I can't wait to try it.
"mickey" it was wonderful meeting you. It was so nice of you to travel so far to meet up with us. Maybe on one of my trips to WV, we can plan to have lunch in Hagerstown?
Lorie, did you try and type USS Maryland in the Search on the groups page? It might take you to that group, if there is one. If not, just hang out with us, as Lori said, we do have a couple of sub moms on here.
Welcome Brandonsmom! What will your son be doing after bootcamp? My son is an EM on the USS Louisiana in Bangor, WA.
It was great seeing everyone at lunch today - hopefully we can do it again to meet our ne w moms!
Brandonsmom- welcome! We are glad you found our group as well. Mickey is also a "bc" mom and her son graduates in May as well [ you told us today but I can't remember the exact day]. How are you doing? Is Brandon your oldest or youngest? Where do you live in MD? We just had a lunch with 5 of us who live here and hope to do so again soon. Last time was 6 months ago and Maryland mom wasn't able to join us this time so we will have to do another lunch at some point.
Lorie- we have a couple "sub" moms on here so if you don't find "your" sub I'm sure you 3 can talk sub talk!!!
Joanne- thanks for the kale recipe. I'm going to have to give it a try!
It was great seeing everyone at lunch today and our new mom "mickey"joining us! Thanks for driving out to be there. Hope next time we get to meet other new moms as well.
