Joanne, haha, that's a great choice!
I'm so glad that Jason got his box and Kevin is getting mail. Great job, Mom!
Wow, 6 boxes of Girl Scout cookies! I wish you were my mom, lol.
There is also a Cheesecake Factory, but I think they are usually pricey.
Lori, can you eat somewhere else? Don't you have some food restrictions?
Oops, I meant April 6th for lunch. That is a Saturday.
Joanne, I'm so glad that he is finally getting mail. I'm sure that will boost his spirits for sure. That's great that he is doing a triathalon. My son always said the same thing about the younger sailors, btw. I guess our boys are just more mature than some of the others their age.
Linda, that is exciting news about an upcoming wedding. I hope you hear something from Joey soon. I have a few friends with kids in the silent service and I can imagine how difficult it is to go so long without hearing from your sailors. ((Hugs))
Donna, if you come back on here soon, please post a picture of your new grand daughter. We always love to see beautiful babies.
Adam sent me a form to fill out to get on the pier when the ship comes in. They need a bunch of information about us and our car. Should be interesting to fill out since we will be renting a car and I have no idea what the license number will be or what type, color or make we will have, lol.
I'm on for April 5. I can't wait to see you all. I will let Anna know as well. She has been working for an accountant, so I hope she will be able to make it.
Betsy - What wonderful news about your tiger cruise! It's great when a plan comes together so well!
Joanne - Glad that Kevin sounds better. There is so much stress on these young men and women - I'm amazed with their perserverance. I had thought of the Cheesecake Factory too.
Maryland Mom - My husband grew up in Cumberland. Although my in-laws are now in West Virginia, we go to Cumberland sometimes. We also camp at Rocy Gap. Congratulations on your new granddaughter!
Lori - Have fun in NC spending time with your family!
No new emails from Joey. I think he is working really hard to get his dolphins. We're not sure when he'll be home but I can't wait to get the call. Hopefully he and his fiancee will be setting the date when he returns.
Hopefully we can get together in April - I'm open to anywhere for lunch.
MarylandMom- I'm not real good with my geography but is Cumberland Western Maryland? That wouldn't be close at all.
Joanne- I'm sure leaving the beach and coming back here was hard! So sorry Kev isn't liking his job yet. I hope like Betsy said he will find his "niche" before too long.
I'm open to meeting at another restaurant. I'm not that familiar with what's in Columbia Mall if that is still where we want to meet. We could look on Goggle for restaurants in the Mall and see what other places they have.
Joanne, your trip to Cocoa Beach sounds wonderful. Glad to hear that your Ellen and that her trip was successful. My youngest daughter just returned from a trip to Panama, Central America. She went with her college Biology group and they spent their time in the rain forest collecting bugs, snakes, frogs and iguanas at night. Yuck! Oh, to be young!
Hearing about Kevin's struggles has brought back some memories to me. I know that you are doing everything you can to encourage him and I'm sure that is helping him. I don't know if you remember, but my Adam actually went into the Navy to do Aviation. While he was A school, he and his instructors, quickly realized that it wasn't the best place to use his talents. He had scored high on his ASVAB but the amount of math involved in Aviation was just really kicking his butt. He was so down on the phone every time I talked with him. I even went down to Pensacola around that time to bring up his spirits. Thank goodness, he was permitted to re-class due to his high scores and it ended up being best thing that could have happened to him. He loves being a CTT and has done extremely well in his job. I will pray that Kevin is given an opportunity to utilize his best talents as well. I'm sure he will do just fine. ((Hugs)) to you mom.
Lori, Woohoo! I'm always so happy to hear when you go see your grandchildren. Have a wonderful trip!
I have been to Coronado a few times and I love it there. Is Paul's ship in port now?
Hey there, Maryland Mom (Donna, :) It's so great to "see" you on here again. Congratulations on your new grand daughter. I'm so very happy for Steven and your family. I definitely want to see pictures if you come to lunch.
April 5 is good for me. Anywhere is fine with me. Lori, where would you suggest other than PF Changs?
I live in Cumberland. Yes, I have been driving for 8 yrs. I love it !
MarylandMom, congrats on your new grand daughter!
I hope you can make it if we do a lunch. Where do you live?
You drive a school bus? You must be a very patient lady! I can't imagine doing that!
Oh my goodness Betsy, that is wonderful news !!! I have been in tears reading all this ! I love the banner. So glad you will get to do this trip and not have it cost you much ! Please give adam a big hug from me !! I would love to see him and you again ! I have been so MIA from this site for so long. Last I checked in, Steve had gotten married (surprise) , then 2 weeks later we found out we were going to be grandparents (2nd double whammy surprise). Well as of Jan 29th, our 1st grand child, Sophie Nicole was born. We went to Norfolk for her birth, and have only made it back down once since. She is beautiful and we love her and her momma very much !! Life has been crazy ever since. I would love to catch up with everyone for lunch. Not sure if I can hit the April or not. I drive a school bus, and that Friday evening, I'm taking the baseball team to a game. Will make a late night. However, I will keep checking the plans, and if possible I may have to suck it up and make the drive !! Take Care Maryland Moms !!
