Tammy- yes I second everything therevbev said! I am one of the admins on the Maryland FB page. I live in Olney [not far from Germantown. We do have a mom who lives in Frederick. She is mostly on the FB page. Come join us!

Hi, Tammy. I live down in Germantown. There are alot of Maryland moms, but most hang out on the Facebook page. It is private, so you just request to join, one of the admins will contact you, and there you will find many more of us. We even get together occasionally (April in Frederick). Most of us still get notices from these pages, but do most of our "chatting" on Facebook. Welcome to Navy Moms!

HELLO! New to the site, my son just left Tuesday for BC. Is there anyone close to Frederick area in here or anyone active in this group?

I am doing a happy dance since I just got a ship-to-shore call from the "CS of the Month" on the USS Carl Vinson!!!  He really needed that kind of recognition as he's been feeling overused and overlooked. We could not be prouder of his hard work during this long and dangerous deployment.

To any who can make it- the Holiday Project packing party will take place at my house this Saturday at 11:30- 12:00. Joanne has kindly offered to bring lunch for us. If any of you can make it and need directions let me know!

mak9akmom- welcome to our MD group! We love having new ones join us! I am the mom having the packing party! Navy 4 moms has an annual Holiday project where they 'adopt' a ship that is deployed for the holidays. This year it happened to be the ship my son is on! The goal that the ladies have made is to have almost 6,000 bags for each of the sailors and marines on that ship. We are going to do our part! What is your daughter in A school for? What is her rate? I am not familiar with that bridge though we go over the Bay Bridge when we go to the shore.                                   Joanne is right- come one to the FB group!
