Anna, do you want me to come pick you up at your house?  If your husband is planning to meet you down there, it would be silly for you to drive to my house.  After I pick you up, we could then get Linda on the way down to Columbia.

Joanne, Oh no!  :(  I will be praying that maybe something will change and he can be there.  ((hugs))  I have been thinking about you all week.

My Adam's anniversary for joining the Navy is this week, Oct. 25 and I have been having some weepy moments the last few days.  I can't believe that it's already been 2 years.

I'm really worried about Adam, he just emailed me and said he is having trouble concentrating on everything.  :(  I am going to send some vitamins tomorrow, but they will take over a month to get to him.  First he had trouble sleeping and now this.  He is now interested in a girl (well, woman, I should say) on the ship and I can't help but think she could be the distraction.   I'll tell you more about her on Saturday.  I'm not happy with this development, at all, believe me.   She has way too much baggage and is much older than him.  I can't help but think, what is she thinking and what the heck is wrong with her?   I kinda wish I could just set foot on the ship for a couple of minutes, just so I could have a talk with her about leaving my boy alone.  I just emailed Adam back, and I know he won't be happy with my thoughts that maybe this new "friend" could be one of the causes of his distracted thoughts.

Hi Betsy, yes, I think so... What will be the travel plan?

Hi ladies, 12:30 is good for me too.

Anna, do you still want to carpool down to Columbia?  If so, it's just fine with me.  I have to call Linda too as I think we are riding down together.

Joanne, I don't think I have you on FB either, I'll friend you too.

Joanne - thanks also for the info on Columbia Mall! We are enjoying the adventure of living in a new area :-)

My hubby now works to Jos A Bank corporate in Hampstead - he was hired there...after 24 years at Men's Wearhouse.

Lori - very interesting...I'm so glad to hear that you guys stuck with it and saw a way to make good of a very difficult situation. Over the years that we have been involved with ministries we have found that "independent" type organizations with w/out strong accountability leads to a higher probability of people running-a-muck or going on a power trip and consequently dragging down others with them. We, too, were once in a situation that went bad...let's just say that... so I completely understand.

Joanne - hi - no, I am the one that went back to Bible College (as an adult) and served on ministry staff at my last two churches :-) My husband and I serve together in marriage ministry as lay-leaders (certified through Family Dynamics out of Nashville, TN) and lead small group bible studies...and because of the background we both have - Arts ministry, too! Hope that clears that up :-)

FB - yes, Friend me Maryland moms! facebook.com/anna.valle

12:30 is fine for me...this will make the afternoon free for other things too. My husband is talking about coming down there and meeting me afterwards. We have never been to Columbia.

Anna- it must have been hard to have left your friendships and your ties to your church. We have finally found a church after having been in one for almost a decade. The church became so "cult-like" that I couldn't stay any longer. I couldn't set foot in a church for months after all that happened [ long story]. The church we are in now is a brand new baby church. We helped [ still are of course!] get it off the ground with the pastor and his wife who have quickly become good friends. New beginnings for many of us on here in one way or another!

Lori- yes...unpacking is endless, lol! I think I've done what "I need to do" for now...decided not to unload some things...at least not yet. We really like Westminster and the home we are in has a nice view :-)
We've visit 2churches so far. Today we attended LifePointe and it seems that lots of good things are happening to and through the people there. We still have some more to visit before planting.
My hubby and I were group leaders and we were very involved in marriage ministry back in TX... So we want to be where God can use us.
I read about Paul's leave request...hope it goes through!

Anna- that's great! Unpacking always seems endless doesn't! How do you like the area? That's neat you found a church- what did you think of it?

Hi Y'all! Jumping back in... we are mostly unpacked now, in our house here in Westminster, MD and have been doing a little exploring. We visited a church over here this morning, too.

I am still planning on lunch on OCT 27 - I'll be glad to meet you all.
