Joanne - That's wonderful that Jason & Ellen will be home!  Christmas in September sound like fun. I didn't hear about the fallen soldier either. Do you have any details?

Betsy - we are probably about 5 minutes apart so carpooling for a lunch would be great! Pryers for you and your family as your son starts his deployment. God bless all the sailors on the Stennis.

Joey is taking his 50% test in Prototype tomorrow - he will be done this last school in November.  He won't have his orders until near graduation but I am nervously awaiting for the information to see when he will be deployed.

Joanne, just sent you a text before I saw this. That is wonderful news that you'll have Jason and Ellen home at the same time! Are you going to decorate and get a tree???!!! That will be fun what ever you do!

I had not heard about the fallen soldier. Where in the news is it as I'd like to read about it?

Lori, thank you.  I just did friend her on here and I am on the Stennis group too.   I really appreciate you telling me about her.  Today has been a little rough, but I'm hanging in there.  Adam did call me today.  He was on duty. He has also texted a couple of times and did say that he is manning the rails.  I'm hoping, although I do know it's long shot, that I may see a picture of him when they are leaving.  We are leaving his phone on until he leaves SD, so I know I will hear from him again in a few days.  He said they were leaving at 3, which is now WA time.   :(

Betsy, my friend Kathyf said to friend her on here as she would love to help in anyway. She said she can certainly feel for you today. She said have you gone on to the Family and Friends of the Stennis on FB? She's on there too. Hope you are doing ok.

Betsy, praying for your boy. It may be awhile before you hear from him. Depends on if he's in a "shop" and has access to a computer. Do you know?

Paul will be back in SD on Wednesday after his 2 week long class in OKC. He's looking forward to being back too! I'll have to ask him if he'll see the Stennis when it pulls in. You will no doubt get a call from Adam then. Hang in there! I'm going to email my friend Kathy about you. I'll let you know.

Lori, thank you.  Yes, I would like to get in contact with her, that would be awesome.    I'm holding up pretty good today, but I'm sure tomorrow will be a different story.  Adam and I Skyped yesterday for about an hour, so I held back my tears then.  I took a picture of his handsome face on the screen, so I could remember his pre-deployment face, lol.  The ship's email is down and has been for about a week, so I don't know when I will get the first email from him.  :(  Luckily, they will have to stop in San Diego in a few days to pick up the planes, so he will call me from there.  After that, they may make a port call in Hawaii, but he doesn't even think they will be able to get off the ship then.

Betsy, hugs to you my friend as tomorrow draws closer. Safe trip home. When you are back I have a name of another Navy mom who has a son-in-law on the Stennis. I met her this past May as her son is on the Vinson. She also has a daughter in the Navy. If you want to be in contact with another mom who has family on the Stennis she said she would be more than happy to help in any way.

Thank you, Donna.  How is Steven doing?  When is your new grand child due?

Thinking of you Betsy. I know how hard this will be for you to not see Adam. He and your family will be in my prayers during this deployment. I hope this time passes very quickly for you and that your are able to have tons of skype time together !! Take care my friend. ~Donna~
