Jeano- I agree with what Joanne said "the more the merrier!" You are more than welcome to join us!
I'm so sick of this cold weather. My car wouldn't start as I'm ready to leave for school. My husband was able to jump start it but it's time for a new battery he said. It was 10 degrees out when I left!
Joanne I am glad your brother wasn't one of those I've seen on the news stranded in their cars on the highway. I can't imagine what those people have gone through.
I was checking back over some old posts and wanted to ask the mom's who have posted on here how they are if they are still around.
One mom - guanggao, she lived near me and another mom who was new to join us this summer was Lindsay'sproud mom and Colleen. Are you ladies still reading on here? How are you all doing? Any chance you'd like to join us for lunch on the 8th?
Lori, thank you for welcoming me to the group. I look forward to meeting everyone soon! :-)
Hi ladies! I pray everyone is well.
Joanne, I often wonder about the same thing regarding that young man. I'm going to contact the funeral home about forwarding him a card. I'll let you know what they say.
I see there's chat about getting together Feb 8 at Clydes. I would love to join you all! Let me know if it's a go, along with a time.
Joanne, I wonder how it all worked out for this young man? So sad.
I have put Feb 8th down on my calendar for lunch. Did we decide which restaurant in Columbia? Uno's or something else? I hope we can finally get together- it has been way too long since our last lunch. Also it would be great to meet new ladies!
MurraysMom, welcome to our group.
GRU- please give my sympathy to SPC Valerde on the death of his wife. I pray that he had support from the community at this time. I am sorry that I didn't come on here sooner. I agree with MurraysMom- it is never out of place to show our love and support to those in our military who so unselfishly serve us every day.
Hello. I literally just joined this group. I am so saddened to see this message. Do you know if the funeral home is still accepting cards and/or flowers on behalf of Tiffany's memory?
I will keep the Bise-Valverde family in my prayers. Thank you for sharing.
Incidently, it is never out of place to show support for those who are grieving. God bless.
I don't know how to ask this but I have been made aware of one of our military family has lost a loved one and has no family in the area. If anyone is available or would like to help show support it would be greatly appreciated.
My name is SPC Gabriel Valverde, my wife Tiffany Bise-Valverde was 24, she passed away January 7th, and I’m taking her back to Baltimore to her family. Her viewing is this Wed the 15th from 3 to 5, then 7 to 9. With services Thursday morning at Ambrose Funeral Home of Lansdowne. 2719 Hammonds Ferry Rd, Lansdowne MD 21227. I don't have anyone close to me from my family that can make it, if there are any soldiers or sailors in the area if you would like to come show support that would be awesome. She would have gotten a kick out of it. Thank you.
I hope I'm not out of place by asking that we show our support of our military family.
Jeano welcome to our little group! That's great you will have your son living not too far from you. How long has he been in the Navy if he's been gone for the past 7 Thanksgivings? I haven't had mine home for 3 of them so far. He's in SD so too far to come home! He will be here for Christmas which I'm excited about because he won't be the following year.
Joanne- wearing both Army and Navy stuff would be confusing to those around you I would think. Neither side can hassle you! Which team do you yell for?
Lindsaysmom - Great picture!
Colleen - You are right - it's not easy when our sailors get orders that take them far away. Hang in there!
This will be the first Christmas Joey won't be home. I knew this would happen at some point and I'm so glad he was home last year. I haven't heard from Joey and I don't think I will. If he gets a chance to email, he'll send one to his fiancée and I understand that. She will let us know how he is doing when she gets an email. We are getting a mail drop so we've written letters and put in pictures and some food and sent them to his fiancée so she can add some things and get it to Washington by October 4.
Looking forward to lunch sometime soon!
