Just back from visiting the Sailor Son in Chicago this past weekend. Loved Loved Loved every minute of it. We had a blast. He is such a character!
I am ready for PF Chang's. Is anyone available on Wednesdays during the day maybe for a luncheon meet? I would be willing to do a panera bread thing.
(my favorite lunch spot)
Liz
I am looking forward to PF Changs too. I am planning another trip to Pensacola to see my sailor on the 4th of July weekend, but I should be free after that.
Joanne, congrats on your wedding! That is so exciting!
Linda, that's awesome about your son's score :)
SallyS, I sure wish we lived closer to Annapolis, but that would be quite a hike for her. Thanks for the thought though.
Tomorrow is going to be a rough day for me, as I have to take my daughter and her bf Navy to the airport. *tear. I can't believe that she will be gone for a year. I think I could handle it if I knew for sure she would be coming back to Maryland afterwards, but, after her bf gets out of the Navy, he wants to go to college. He he is thinking about going to Colorado for that. :(
Joanne, how are you? The Pf Chang's that was mentioned when Betsy was talking about moving to MD is the one in Columbia Mall. Are you familiar with that? I know your weekends are probably very full. Maybe the end of June or beginning of July?
That is so neat you found your band! You must be getting excited now! When is the exact date? I know you told me but I have forgotten.
Linda, congrats to your son! Sounds like he's doing well. That is good news. It is nice to be able to call more often now. Haven't talked to Paul in 3 weeks. I'm in England but will be home tomorrow. I have missed talking to him and other than a quick FB message I don't hear much from him.
Glad you want to join us at PF Chang's. Now all we have to do ladies is pick a date!
Joanne - so sorry to hear about your mom. I've been there and it is a hard place to be. I am remembering you and your family in my prayers tonight.
It's so nice to be able to call my son and have him answer his phone! It's been a good week for him - he had the 3rd highest score in his class! He was doing his laundry. Why didn't he do this at home?!? Making plans to go to SC in August or Sept and he may be home in July for the weekend.
Looking forward to PF Changs!
Betsy- Welcome back to be Maryland! So good to see you on here once again! Sounds like you have had a very busy time. And leaving your home, friends, and leaving Eric behind I know it was hard for you. And the saying good bye to your daughter... I'm sorry :(
Look forward to hearing from you more and when you are more settled hopefully lunch at PF Chang's will happen.
All the best to your daughter on getting a job soon.
Hello ladies.......I feel so lost because I haven't been on here in a really long time. My daughter graduated from college last Saturday and then on Sunday we started our cross country road trip back to Maryland. Sadly, :( I had to say goodbye to my oldest son, Eric, has who made the decision to stay back in NM to continue a post graduate degree. We arrived back in Maryland on Wednesday night and have been running ragged ever since. We are living in a Staybridge Suites for about 3 weeks, then will move into a small apartment in Columbia in mid June. This coming Saturday, we will be having a graduation/going away party for my daughter. She is moving to Hawaii to be with her Navy bf for the last year of his Navy career. (He isn't re-enlisting) After they leave on Monday and my husband returns to work, I will be able to breathe again and return to what's really important in life, Navy4Moms. :)
Are we still planning a lunch in June? Funny story, my youngest daughter is looking for a summer job, before going back to college in NM, and she went to PF Chang's today to apply. She left her job, last week to come back to MD for the summer, at a place in NM called Pappadeaux. It is a higher priced Louisiana style seafood restaurant. (Yes, odd for NM, lol) She filled out the application for PF Chang's today and the General Manager who interviewed her, told my daughter that she had actually been the one to open the Pappadeaux restaurant in NM 10 years ago. She knew my daughter's boss, who has also apparently been there for 10 years. We don't know whether they will hire her yet, because they did say that they were fully staffed. But one of the managers did tell her to call back if she can't find another job, and make sure that she tells them that she is the Pappadeaux girl and they will see what they can do. lol Maybe they will be able to put her on the schedule. I miss you ladies and hope to catch up with all the posts on Monday.
