Hi to all! I'm in England now. Heading for bed as I have been awake since Monday morning and it's now tues evening.

Spoke to Paul just as I was getting on the plane yesterday evening. It was good to hear from him as I will be gone 3 weeks and calling is too expensive. All is well.

How was your time away Cindy?

Caseys Mom - I also only heard from my son at 3 weeks and after battlestations.  I came to the realization that no news was good news and in the end, everything was fine.  He wrote a few letters but they were short and did not give me much information how he was doing at bootcamp.  Now that he is in SC, I have talked to him more.  I send him texts and sometimes we chat on Facebook.  He is getting redy to start classes and I know I won't hear much from him as he will be very busy in Nuke school.  At least I can send a texts and he can send a short reply. When I got a letter, I read it over and over.  I hope you get a letter real soon!

Casey's mom, you are not alone! I am sorry it's been so long since you heard from your boy. Not uncommon BTW. My son only called once while in BC. Totally unexpected and i was so grateful i was home at the time. He had ben there for 3 weeks at that point. The next call I got was after BS and we were already in GL! Hang in there- you should be getting a letter soon if you haven't already.

it's been 11 days and I haven't heard from my 1st born child ( in boot camp). Argh. I saw a posting about a quiet house. I am fortunate that I don't have a quiet house. Still have young ones at home to distract me, so I don't have too much time to feel sorry for myself. Except at night when they are asleep.  Then, I can log onto this N4M site and feel much better knowing that I am not alone!!

Thanks for the link. I just sent a request to the group creator to be part of this. I'll let you know. How does it work? Do they send you a name?

Patricia- i just tried and I couldn't find anything like what you are talking about. I typed in "answer" -that's all and nothing came up except where groups had "answer" in a reply on a post. What else should i type in?

Patricia- thank you for posting that. I had not heard of it and I would love to write to someone. I'm not much of a writer but when i asked my son when he was in BC if there were guys who didn't get any mail he never gave me an answer. I know how much mail means to those in there so I am going to check out this web site. I met one young man who had no family at the PIR and when I asked Paul he said he only had a dad and he wasn't in the states. Wish I had known as i doubt he got any mail.
