You gave me an idea Sheryl (and do not say uh-oh either)!
My son recently graduated with an Associate Degree in automotive technology with a high performance component. He's having an impossible time finding a job - and we really need him to be working. Does anyone know someone who is looking for an automotive tech? Or someone willing to give him a chance?
Just thought I'd ask...
A CARDBOARD SHERYL!!! Oh, Johanna that would be priceless. I wonder if we could Skype with her that afternoon?? What do you think?
Sheryl, I'm going to take a pic of your cardboard self and enlarge it and have it at home so maybe I won't be missing you so much?! You don't know how much I wish a job would come through for Andrew in SC!
@NausetMom, you'll find we use lots of crazy phrases like "New Mommas"! It is actually a carry-over from the group "Molly's Adopt A Sailor" (aka MAS) on N4M. A lot of us are member of MAS, too. If you've read back a ways here you'll see pictures of our packing parties. When we have one of those the items go to the group of military men and women that MAS has adopted for the month. Each month a new group and we adopt all branches of the military, not just sailors. It is an amazing group of women who have put together one of the most remarkable non-profit organizations you can imagine. Everyone is volunteer. Even the lawyer and accountant do our legal and tax stuff pro bono because every penny we raise goes right back to our troops. You can check it out by searching in the groups. There's also a website: www.MollysAdoptASailor.com and it is on FB. Take a look, you might like to jump in the pool!!
New Momma! haven't been called that in a long time. lol
Hi Johanna,
I haven't seen a message from you?
I sent you a friend request, perhaps that needs to happen first?
Looking forward to meeting you all, Sheryl has been telling me how great this group of mom's is.
Johanna, I can't begin to tell you how much I want to see you again!! It has been a long time girlfriend - too long. Don't worry, I am now confined to rest, ice and elevate my left knee and leg & if I'm stuck doing that I won't be able to fall down and then I won't have to stay home like I did back in December! WHEW. But, my logic is pretty good don't you think? You, Dee and me... oh boy! Just wish Sheryl could be with us too :( Next up -- road-trip? To SC of course & we'll descend on Sheryl (and poor John) with all the new mommas with us. Wouldn't that be something? lol
