Just wanted to pop in and say "Hi".  This has been a very hard week for me and both of my sons. I loved being in SC - I could pretend Maurice was here waiting for us to come home.  But the truth is, he wasn't and never will be again.

I'm trying to get thru a huge pile of legal papers.  I've set a goal of contacting and finishing 3 a day, hopefully 4 tomorrow and then I'm taking the week-end off just for me.

Saw the orthopedic surgeon today.  He wanted to drain some fluid off of my knee.  It hurt like anything, and it wasn't the clear or yellow fluid he expected it was bright red blood.  So I had to have all sorts of blood tests and an MRI is being scheduled.  First hard thing.  Next Wed. I have to see the general surgeon again about the mass in my breast.  It seems like everything is just crashing in on me/us right now.  I'm just trying to hang on for the ride & trusting God to get us through all of it.

I'll pop in again.  Don't worry, I haven't left the group.

Navy Mom hugs>> to all of you!!  And, I'm thrilled to see new moms joining us.  Welcome to everyone!

Hi Dee ,
This prior MA mom is sitting pretty as Tropical Storm Andrea is pounding down on us !
Was excited that Kim sent out another 3 dozen PCS . So I'll be getting all 6 dozen done over the weekend . Did you get all yours done for your W s team ?
Have you heard any from Donna ? I was so bummed not to get up to Charleston last weekend , but between the " part time job " and house plans I feel like I'm working 24/7 again .
When are you coming down ???

I meant to say NF for Nuclear Field, whoops. Then there are three ratings in the field, MM Machinist's mate, EM Electrician's mate and ET Electronic's Technician but my son won't know which one he will be until after he starts school I think.

Hi Helen! Yes, I'm from Framingham. My son graduated from high school a few years ago and tried college for a few years but really had his mind set on the Navy. It has been a long process for both him and me. It is finally starting to feel real. My husband and his sisters are also happy for him. Now we will be fighting over which three of us will be able to go to PIR when he gets to that point. And Dee, I was googling Navy and stumbled across Navy for Moms luckily, so glad I did.

Besties4dogs -- I just looked at your profile and we're both in Framingham.  I'm going to try to friend you so we can chat privately.  Probably our sons know each other!

Hello to other MA Moms!  My son is scheduled to go 10/23.  Besties4dogs, I know what you mean about wishing your Dad was here.  We are proud of my son, but my father would have been bursting with pride!  It is a little melancholy that he can't share in the joyous part of this all.

Denise (Dee) -- what are SWCC, NSW, and NP?  My son is scheduled to enter the nuclear program.  He found this site himself, but his recruiters also told him about it.  Am SO glad we have it -- he joined the DEP program in February and it's been a lifeline of sanity for me!

Hi Dee, I am a soon to be Navy mom.  My son just signed his paperwork as a DEP for NP (Nuke) at MEPS last week.  Hopefully, I got the acronyms right.  He has a date right now of 02/12/14 but they are trying to do a push/pull?? and get him in before December.  I am very proud of him. I am a marine brat, my dad was a career enlisted man and my older brother was also a marine (both are now deceased).  I wish they were both here, they would also be proud (even though he is going into the Navy, lol).

Hello to all the fellow MA Navy Moms.

I have just found this group, my son has been in since August 2012 and is currently in San Diego assigned to the USS Rushmore.

I would love to be involved in whatever good deeds you all come up with!

Donna, how sad for you and your family.  You all will be in my thoughts.  Take care of yourself and look forward to seeing you when you feel up to it.  Hugs, Helen
