If you have a FB account & are friends with Molly's Adopt A Sailor, you already know that August's adoption is a group of Coast Guardsmen. No particulars are given yet, they will be announced on August 1st by the Mom of the Month.
However, getting a jump on things -- I would like to host a packing party on either Saturday, 8/18, or Sunday, 8/19. Anyone interested in coming? I surely hope so ... Let me know if you'd like to get together and which day you would prefer.
It has been such a long time since we were all together and I know it is still summer-time, but let's try to get together and do something for the troops! I'll start a discussion once the details are announced. To estimate the time - we are about 1 hour from Lowell/Dracut. A little more from Nashua. About 20-30 minutes south of The Pike. And, off Rte. 495 S or 95 S to Rte. 1 South. Very direct.
OK, I can't stand it anymore ... I miss you all!!! Let's make some plans for August. We'll be celebrating summer, but can begin to look ahead to plans for later.
What shall we do??????
@ Helen, how is your husband doing?? Been praying for both of you!
Just checking up with everyone!
Is a trip to Boston for Fleet Week still on people's calendar?
Let's get a count going for who is going and which day people want -- Thursday or Friday. Most convenient day wins.
Shall we plan to meet somewhere and either drive in or take a train? I have no idea about how the trains run so I will defer to anyone who knows!
Let's figure out if we are still going to be able to go ...
Thanks for the warm welcomes :) I have accepted your friend request, Donna. Thanks for that! I am definitely struggling emotionally this past week (I dont know what happened!). I am just happy to find so much info here, and hope to make some new friends in similar situations. If there are any events in the area, or things I can assist with - I would love to know. Thanks!
Karina, I just sent you a friend request -- just wanted to give you a "heads-up."
Welcome Karina!! My sailor is not in bootcamp, perhaps one of the new moms here does. Anyone in the same boat as Karina?
My son just returned from his 2nd deployment. He was in the Persian Gulf.
But what can we do to help YOU? This is a place where you can tell your struggles and find support and/or answers. At some point we've all been through it.
Hang in there. Just keep remembering that July is only 1 week away ...
Hugs to you!
Hi there. New to N4M! My son is currently at BC in Great Lakes, IL. Graduation is 7/27. I am so proud, but struggling. Anyone in the MA/CT/RI area? Or have a loved one currently there, too?
Oh Helen! I am so sorry to hear your news. Will be praying for you and your husband - and especially today as he has more surgery.
Take good care & will keep in touch.
