What a pretty name!

So how is Grandma doing?  Or are you a Grammy, Nana, or something else?  I'm so excited for you!

I see my little Samantha Jo soon and I absolutely cannot wait to get her in my arms, but I will have to share with a VIP.  Can't say anymore than that, but you Navy Moms can figure it out.  Just don't respond.  Remember OPSEC.

Pauline, that baby is so precious.  But you didn't say - is the baby a girl like you thought?  That is one proud Daddy.  LOVE the pic.  Congratulations to the new daddy and mommy, but especially to the new grandmother!!!

Also wondering, do we want to do anything for Fleet Week in Boston over the 4th?

We don't have to do anything big, but we can always do something whatever the size or involvement.

What do you all think???

I've been thinking (uh-oh) but don't you think it is about time we got together again? I know that Sheryl wants to get together while she is in Groton, but nothing has been worked out on that yet.

But, I was talking to a Molly Mom today and there is going to be another "first-time, ever, by anyone" adoption coming in July.  She wouldn't tell me who, just a few vague comments like the above.  I have a couple of thoughts about who it might be, but since I don't know for certain I won't say anything at this point.

Anyway, it is going to be huge -- just like when we got to adopt a sub last year.  I am hoping that maybe we can have a packing party in July.  It gives us a month to plan and start gathering items.  Anyone up for a packing party in July?

From what I've heard early fall.  It wouldn't be appropriate to put it on a website, even a fairly private one like ours.  Never know who is "listening" to our conversations!!  We don't want to get shut down for breaking OPSEC rules.

I don't think there is anything set more than a possible month, but I'll be talking to you.

When you say you are back -- are you in MA, NY or somewhere in between?

Hi Donna. I'm back ...when is it ?
Comment by Proud Navy/NYPD Mom (Donna) on May 19, 2012 at 4:52pm

OK, Kathy - so I can take it as a "yes" you'll be there?!  LOL

Maybe that is why the Molly Moms want to have a presence?  It would be really amazingly fantastic PR for us!!

Is anyone interested in helping other east coast Moms with a welcome home greeting in VA? I've been asking the Molly Moms when there will be a ship coming home to the east side of the country.  They had a suggestion -- The Big E!!  I accused them of not looking for a small ship for our first welcome home and they just picked out one of the biggest with thousands to welcome!

Anyway, please think about it.  It wouldn't be just us MA Moms, there would be others. The Moms usually have cookies to hand out (moms across the country bake for home comings & put them in baggies ready to go) and of course lots of hugs.
