Welcome Jenn724!! We are so glad you joined us. Things are a little quiet right now, but please stay with us - we do have some plans in the works. Just have a few kinks to work out.
I hope "that call" comes soon. Waiting is probably the hardest thing we have to do as Navy Moms.
Right now my son is deployed. Can't say what he is doing. Can't tell you where he is. So many "can'ts, but we are starting our countdown until his boots hit American soil !!! That is what I'm hanging on for.
PS The baby in the picture is his little girl. She just turned one 3/23. He has missed all her "firsts" which is sad, but thank goodness for skype. That is Samantha Jo in her bunny rabbit ears. The little love of our lives.
Can't wait to get to know you a little better.
Hi everyone! I am new to this site, and so happy to see a Massachusetts group. My daughter left today for boot camp, and her husband left last week. My emotions are all over the place. I know she is in good hands. Just waiting for that call.. :)
Tag Laura, you are it!! LOL Just so we can all start clearing our calendars -- we are going to have a party! Laura will be filling us in on details as she has them.
@ Dee, I'm glad it made your day. It made mine too. I hope they have a fantastic pancake b'fast and don't eat all the trail mix or marshmallows before hand! I just love it when we hear from our kiddies all over the place, but especially from the CSHs!! Sometime I think they are the forgotten units. Just my opinion. But those pancakes will remind them of home and especially that there are Navy Mommas and Molly's Mommas who have their backs here at home.
Hi Donna: Yes, I would love to help sponsor one! I am in Essex County. Let me know how to start and I will take the lead.. Laura
Hi Laura! Right now we don't have one scheduled. I would love to see one in April or May, but I'm trying to figure out how to do one (I'm having my knee replaced on 4/9. I've been thinking about early May, but we may want to wait and see what the adoption is for April. Maybe we could work together on something? Interested?? We will "talk" next week. I am supposed to be getting ready to leave for NY and my hubby just got back from getting gas. Gotta run before he comes in!! LOL
Hi Ladies: when is the next packing party? sorry I have not been so great in attending these so far, but would love to try and make the next one. Thank you, Laura
After that nice email I'm ready to go shopping for boxers and undershirts!!
In case you didn't see this email - a thank you from CSH Dwyer. They mentionned Dee's marshmallows and trail mix toppings so they got our boxes!!
SH woke up to this wonderful email this morning! Mom's you did it again!!! This is the first time that the 10th CSH has seen a SH Mission at Camp Dwyer. I think YOU wowed them! Good job, ladies! <3
How are you doing today? I wanted to send you an email to let you know that we received your packages yesterday. Words cannot express how grateful the command is that we have supporters like Molly's Adopt A Sailor. The last breakfast we had for the Soldiers was a great morale booster and now that we received your organization's tremendous donation of pancake mix, syrups, jelly and fillings, we will be able to have another big breakfast for the Troops. I will make sure to take pictures of our next breakfast event and send them to you so that people that donated items can see how much we appreciate what ya'll have sent. Again thank you from the Chaplain Services, the Command Group, and the Soldiers here at Camp Dwyer. Take care.
SSG XXXXX XXXXXX
P.S. The Soldiers are really going to love the trail mix and the marshmallows. I don't think we've had marshmallows in a long time.
Basically I changed my name because here in MA Navy Moms people know me as Donna, but on MAS they know me as NYPD. And MA Moms don't always realize that NYPD is me. Wild I know.
I CANNOT believe Nick is graduating in just 2 days. I'm sure that the time has been so much slower for you tho. When you see him, give him a BIG congratulatory hug from this MA Navy & Molly's Momma!! I should have made him a pc for making it thru. Maybe I can do that for A school?? What do you think?
Still waiting for Kimmy to give us the info for our adventure. Also, (all moms reading this) I'm still looking for a hostess for a packing party in April. Hint: the adoption MAY be something we have never, ever done before and if it is a go it will be a huge morale booster for the recipients. That's all I can tell you so far.
