** Just wanted to announce that I have a new job with Molly's Adopt A Sailor **

I am going to be working with Kimmy P. coordinating the adoptions each month.  This is so exciting for me.  I miss nursing and I miss my patients so much this is like an answer to a prayer for me.  Only I'll have so many more patients than I could have imagined!  I'm really thrilled beyond words.

Also wanted to tell you that we are going to be registered as a non-profit under the umbrella of Molly's Adopt A Sailor very soon.  This will allow us to do some real fund-raising.  Maybe have several different fund-raisers of our own to help with purchasing items for MAS.  It will take at least a few weeks so don't start yet!!!  We all know how sloooowwwww the government can move & especially here in MA!  I'll let you know when we can move ahead with this.  In the meantime we can start thinking of some ideas.

Hi Kathy,
I sent an e mail to a Mom in regards to Steffans Sub. She
put an amazing list of the subs together, but his was
not among them. I did have Mom E mail me about her
son joining the Missouri in a few months. My sons girlfriend
found another e mail address and said she got a
reaponse from my son. I sent one and as of yet, it had
not bounced back... hurray! Thank you for keeping an eye
on me..... ; ) .... its a great place, just need to keep
digging around!

Hi Moms!  Just wanted to let you know that my knee surgery is on Wed., 1/25.  So if you want to reach me call me.  Our computer is upstairs and stairs will be off limits to me for a while.  Maybe I can borrow my son's laptop some day after he is home from classes to catch up with you all.

Now, it is almost time to settle down - with leg elevated - and watch the Patriots' game.

GO PATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome Johanna!!  Like Kathy said we are a quiet group, but when we get together we have some very good times.  There is truly no one else who can understand like another Mom.

I got your Friend request and will get back to you a little later.  But, in the meantime, I'm so glad you found us.  (PS  Medway isn't too far from me!  I hope we can meet sometime soon.)

Hi Ladies,

I am a Nuke Sub mom and my son is on his first deployment on the USS MISSOURI out of Groton.  Are there any moms, fiances and wives that are here that I can chat with?  My son is the youngest on the boat and I miss him so much! Would be nice to have some friendly faces to talk to.

Thanks,

Johannna

You may have to paste the addy into your search engine for it to work.  Or just go to Special Hugs - it might be easier!!

This article is heartbreaking and a HUGE eye opener!!! Have you ever wondered what it was like in a Combat Support Hospital??? This article will show you what our troops endure. Special Hugs is ALWAYS looking to adopt additional Combat Support Hospitals....if you have any contacts at a CSH in Astan email us at specialhugs@mollysadoptasailor.com. This way we can help more wounded soldiers! ♥

Hi Everybody!  Is everyone keeping warm and still basking in the glow of the Patriots' win on Saturday night?

Just a couple of things --

1) Thanks to Sheryl, I got in touch with Dr. Jim (see post below this one).  He sounds like a very kind doctor - just what we want for our Molly kiddo's!  I will try to repost the video Kimmy posted so you can see it here.

2) The adoption for Jan is also going into Feb since there are so many sailors & marines on the ship.  The USS Makin Island.  I know we TRY to do an adoption in Feb but it is always iffy because of weather. The goal is to make up little gift bags (using brown paper lunch bags, decorated) and then filled with little goodies.  Do we want to try and do something for this group?  Oh, yes, there are 2100 or so of them!!  Let me know if you want to get involved as a group, or even if you want to be a "one box Mom" this time around.

If you want to be the hostess for a packing party, let me know we have several Moms, besides me, who can help you out.

I'm having knee surgery on 1/25 and don't know what the recovery time is expected to be and when my PT starts, but I'll help wherever needed.
