Hi Ladies,

Ive been off line due to some heavy duty bad computer problems. So I just wanted to say Hello! and hope to see you @ the packing party  in Lowell on Sunday :)

Any and all MA Moms who plan to help out in Lowell this Sunday -- we need to bring some packing tape, scissors, pens, markers.  And can anyone print off Molly's Adopt a Sailor stickers for the boxes?

I've got one stack of boxes in my basement.  I plan to pick up some more shipping labels and customs forms.  I think we may have a group of Sailors to adopt (23) but I need to double-check with Tami.

If you can bring some snacks to feed our cheerleaders/volunteers that would be great.

See you on Sunday at 1PM at the UMass/Lowell campus.  If you need directions contact Tami directly.

Pumpkin bread & sugar cookies sound good to me.  I'm sure Jake must have really appreciated Mom's baking!  :)   Matthew hasn't received any of my packages so he didn't have my apple pie in a jar.  In fact, the USO delivered Thanksgiving dinners to his base, but he was out on patrol at the time. When he came back in (along with others) they discovered that the officers had eaten their meals too!  That made him mad (& made his mother furious).  I'd love to complain to the USO, but not by name so they couldn't take it out on him.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving Day!

Looking forward to seeing some of you on Sunday when we help out the cheerleaders.  Waiting to hear from Molly so we can decide who will be receiving the packages.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!  Jake sent me a pic of his T-Day meal  ;(  Did NOT look good, but he said it was the best meal he has had yet in Nuke School, and he licked his plate. He did have my pumpkin bread and turkey shaped sugar cookies, so all was not bad.

OK, Moms, one more time and then I promise you won't hear from me for the rest of the year, at least, about any work!  But this is really REALLY important...

Tami was approached by someone with the UMass/Lowell cheerleaders.  They wanted to do a community service project and, you guessed it, they chose to do care packages for our troops.  So with the blessings of Molly & the MAS board, all the shipping costs will be covered.  Tami & I will be selecting who we are sending the boxes to.

BUT, here's the thing, they are planning their packing party for Sunday, Dec. 4th from 1pm to 5pm and we need Moms to help out these young people.

We need you to come and help.  We need to make sure all the paperwork (labels & especially customs forms) are filled out correctly.  We need to make sure the boxes are put together securely enough to survive.  We need Moms there to help out.  You can bring items or not it is completely up to you.

It might be nice if some brought some sort of snack-y items for the kids to munch on while they work and write cards.  I will bring as many note cards as I have.  If any of you have some to donate too that would really help.

We really, really need a good turn-out of Moms because we may have a surprise visitor!!  I can't tell you yet because it hasn't been confirmed, but I can say that it is seriously being considered.  YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT...because if it does work out I am positive it will mean media coverage for us and all we do.

So put on your best smiling face and plan to come and help Tami's cheerleaders have a super packing party.

Please, we really need YOU.

@Anne Marie & Jennifer, thank you again for helping me out!  I finally squeezed everything into 3 boxes!  Just need to finish writing cards to the rest and they will be ready to go.

@Jennifer,

Thank you for helping me out of this pickle!!  Can I text you?  I'll try that.  I think I have an email addy too and I'll even try a PM thru N4M.  Just remember they will all be the same thing so just delete the others.  :-)
