I just put some 'surprise' info in the Aug packing party discussion above. I don't want to repeat it all here, so I encourage you to look and see what we are waiting for from Reebok. Hint. Hint. Hint.
I'm also going out this AM to pick out some fabric for our pillowcae benefit. The owner said she would start cutting fabric for us, but since we have a donation to buy it, I want to make sure it is something we would choose and not just some odds and ends that maybe the shop wants to get rid of. Does that sound bad?? I hope not, I don't mean it to!!
I didn't realize your daughter was with a VAQ! Do you think you can make one of the packing parties? We have 2 this month - one in Brockton and one in Lowell. And right between the 2 is the Charity Benefit for sewing pc's! MA Moms are gonna be busy this month.
Time to announce the secret:
Several weeks ago I received a phone call asking me to be "Molly's Adopt A Sailor's Mom of the Month." Obviously, my answer was yes. BUT I want you to understand, I don't think of this as an honor for me, I accepted because I consider it an honor for all our small groups in MA that gather so faithfully to send packages to the troops throughout the year!
The adoptees for August are the Shadowhawks (VAQ-141), an electronic attack squadron deployed with the USS George H W Bush. Check out the discussion in the Molly's Adopt A Sailor group.
Two MA Moms have been talking to me about hosting different packing parties this month, so watch for info from them coming soon. This is our time to really show what MA Navy Moms can do. (There will likely be a party in RI, if that is closer you may want to attend theirs. I'll let you know, or join RI Navy Moms to get info directly.)
The theme is "A Picnic in Central Park". (Aug. is Nat'l Picnic Month.) They will receive their pkgs around 9/11, so the idea is to try to put some happiness into their memories of NYC, DC & PA and remind them "We Will Never Forget."
Lots more info in the discussion so please check it out.
I'm really looking for everyone's support in this project. Thank you.
Another hint: we are going to fly and fight to get there! Any guesses on what my surprise announcement is yet?
Last hint tomorrow. Announcement comes on Monday.
Back to #9!! COME ON MA MOMMAS ... to borrow a phrase: LET'S GET OUT THE VOTE!!
Just practicing for next fall. LOL
Just a little break from Pepsi.
Coming soon to this page is a very special announcement. I hope you will all be as excited about it as I am. Announcement will appear around August 1st.
Want a hint?? We're gonna visit a President...
Maybe I'll give you another hint tomorrow! Depends on if I hear from anyone...
And, now back to PEPSI. Still holding at #8 or 9, it keeps switching. So keep looking for power votes. Maybe visit a cell phone store and ask the manager if you can send a text vote from every phone in the store. People are doing that in other states so why not here?!
