For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

For all, happy belated Thanksgiving! Hope those of you who have your sailors this weekend, even if it's just for a short weekend, have a great visit!

We didn't see our sailor this weekend, but we will have him home for two weeks at Christmastime, so that will make up for it. He was adopted for Thanksgiving by a former Marine and his family, along with two other sailors in Charleston (Goose Creek). They watched the Lions game, although that wasn't too much fun, I suppose. The wife even gave them leftover turkey and stuffing to take with them, so he has leftovers! Then, after that full meal, he went out with a few buddies to dinner again that evening. I don't have to worry about him not getting enough to eat. LOL He's doing great, and is ranked 4th in his class at nuke school, only 1/100th of a point away from 3rd. So proud of him!

So nice to see things are pretty much going as normal for the Navy life that our sailors are in. My Sailor is in Pensacola and i recieved a fb chat yesterday as he hit Phase II. Oh those uniform inspections can stop you short that's for sure. I guess that is another learning phase yes? Hopeing you all have a wonderful day. I'm off to write yet another letter, it gets me through the tougher days. Happy day after Ladies

Congrats to him on the Blue Jacket Plaque and the Achievement Medal, what an honor! I don't know what either means, but I am sure they are quite an honor to receive. Glad it was an awesome day with your Sailor!

Comment by Sharon ~ K's Mom on November 25, 2010 at 3:41pm: Happy Thanksgiving to all!!! Our Sailor is in Goose Creek for Nuke school and waiting to class up. Hoping it will be soon. He and some other guys went out for wings at B-dubs (Buffalo Wild Wings) and to watch some football. Not sure if they will be able to watch the Detroit Lions game or not, but they will be watching football and enjoying their Thanksgiving. It is hard not to have him home with us, but this is what his future holds, being away from home. We have Kelsey with us today and her dad may come over for dinner too. May God bless you with love and comfort today as we sit down for an awesome meal and Thank God for every bite.

@Denise from Michigan - I Pray that you get your "I'm a Sailor call". We never got that "call". They wouldn't let our sailor make that call so he entered the hall not knowing if we would be there. What a surprise for us and him he was the first in his row and we made immediate eye contact. I still cry when I think about this.
@ RuthVH - Congrats to you and your son on his promotion.
@ Kathy, proud mom of a sailor - I so happy Evan is home for the holiday.

Ruth VH-just wanted to say "Thanks" for taking the SR in. My son is being adopted for Thanksgiving at GL and it makes me feel so much better knowing that he is with a family-mostly a stand in MOM. I know that the SR all start to feel like family but a hug from a stand in Mom bets everything!! Maybe he will be at your house!! Name is Danny.
