For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I got his form letter last night and had to make a BUNCH of phone calls, while acting like a kid at Christmas. I was a bit upset basically due to the fact that he put his girlfriend and her mother on the guest list instead of his grandparents. I was so mad. I talked to the gf's mom and she said they wouldn't be able to go anyways - they have a commitment for another one of their children that weekend. So now I get the job of breaking the bad news - no gf and good news - grandparents are ready, willing and able to go in their place. Now to work on booking rooms - grandma is my mom and grandpa is his dad's dad (his dad will not be coming - he is in Texas). How to do this, put my mom in the room with me & my husband and his grandpa can have a room with my SR? Does anyone have suggestions on that situation or suggestions on places to stay?

Kathy - I had planned on sending out his address via email, but thought I would want another couple of days to get the form letter. But I did stick my 2 letters in the mail today. I journal all day long so he gets the blow by blow and doesn't miss too much because I forgot about it at night.

There is a Holiday Inn Express and Suites in South Haven, MI on 1741 Phoenix Rd. 877-477-8004. I found this through a Yahoo Search. If you go to a website for South Haven you can find all kinds of accommodations -- try www.southhaven.org/

OK ya'll, I posted the M&G. I hope everyone can make it. It will be a good time! I was able to get the Naval Recruiters involved also. They have been really great. I'm so excited to get to know everyone.

ok moms, I did it. I cried, actually teared up several times. Thank God for sun glasses. But Steven made me promise not to cry. So the last time it happened I told him I had to leave because I couldn't hold them back anymore. The day was great as we drove to his grandma's to do the goodbye and then his grandpa's for the same. Then it was just us time for the hour ride - a really good feeling. So when it came time for his briefing, he told me I didn't have to leave, I could wait til they were done. Funny - because he acted so strong otherwise. It was like the first day of kindergarden. LOL I had to remind him that I still had to drive an hour and still be able to get for work tomorrow. Kids I tell ya. I made it down the road 5 minutes before I had to pull over to blow my nose. Then I was fine. I am glad he had his cell phone tonight as we just got done texting for the past hour. I have taken in all you ladies have written to me and I know he will be ok. Just the separation anxiety moments. I think I did ok. But tomorrow is another day.
