For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

bt, our business will be close to where we live. I don't want to drive too far, want to be near the kids and schools for their activities. I know that Diego can handle things, I just don't like the fact that they "yell" in their faces. I know, I know it is all part of breaking them and then building them up again, but still.

Sharon, that is awesome, where is are you planning a candy shoppe? I'm in the real estate business so business for myself, which I like. I also bartend at a high end golf course here in northern MI. that's my fun job:) Good luck to your son going to boot camp, just remind him to keep an open mind. The way I dealt with boot camp was to remember you're getting paid to get yelled at:)

bt, that is so awesome!! Congrats to him!!! We are sure that he will do fine with the next two tests and he will enjoy doing his clinicals. I did 20 years in the medical field that included EMT training and I loved it!! I enjoyed trauma and intended on becoming a Paramedic, but after EMT and two weeks before state licensing I was involved in a car accident that ended that dream. I went to school for something else (Cardiology) and finished my career. I miss it today, having retired 13 years ago. I owned a Chocolate and Sweet Shoppe not long ago, now waiting a bit to start another business. It will be a candy making supply shoppe. Love that chocolate!!

Well fellow moms, Brandon made it through test 10 today at Corpsman school. He was really sweating it because it's lots of math and that is not is forte. He has 2 more tests then his clinicals. He got much support from his friends and other family members via Facebook. They are lucky to have those social connections thru their journey. I was just thankful he had a quick minute to let me know how he did.

I had to wonder if my freedom loving son would make it through BC. But he not only made it through, he turned into a very polite, grateful son. I can't thank the Navy enough for the discipline they put the recruits through. It is worth it.

Ruth, Thank You!!! I know he will do fine, it is a mom thing with me right now. He is going "Nuke" at the moment and will be going in as an E-3. He has done a few things and also recruited a few other kids to sign. He has one of his best friends shipping out on 18 August and gave him a few kids too, so it all goes around. You are right, it will be an adventure. Heck, every time we get in my car it is an adventure, when the K's were younger that is what they called it. Too funny, it has stuck over the years. Thanks again.

Thanks btw, missed your post earlier. I know he will do great, I think deep down I am starting to stress. I am a bit cranky lately. It will be hard to let him go, though he is ready to do so. Thanks again. I will lean on this site I am sure!!
@Jaz, I know about the meet and greet. I can't make it though, too many other things going on. Another time I am hoping!

Thanks Jaz, I will remind him. He works well as a team player so I am sure he won't have any problem doing that. He is good at encouraging others, so may help others as well. I am a writer, always have loved it and he knows that. I wrote a long letter to him when he graduated in June, he loved it. Our dog, Nikko is a Golden Retriever, so she will also write him letters! Great idea! Thanks again!

Sharon, very true, my son the first 2 weeks were the hardest. Remind him to that they are looking for them to work at a division, not individual. Because if one causes trouble, they all get it. So he may have to play big brother to help some one else. But tell him not to do it for him, but with him until he gets it. My son tried to stay under the radar of the RDC's, but they get to know them all. I am sure he will be fine. Please write lots - my son loved his letter from the dog.
