Good news...my son Allen is coming home for a visit May 25th! I haven't seen him for almost a year. I'm so excited! He is bringing home a Marine friend too.

Lisa, my prayers are with you and your hubby. I also went through gall bladder surgery 24 years ago. It was so awful the pain from the gall bladder attacks. I was pregnant with my second child when I had my first. I thought I was going into labor it was so bad. It is true like Kathy B said, they don't cut you open like they did for me too. Recovery is so much quicker.

Lisa, prayers to you and your hubby, hope all goes well.
Wendy, we use to live in New Baltimore, my 2 oldest graduated from Anchor Bay. and Dawn I go thru Davis every night on my home from work, Small World. the little store is now a gas mart. But Davis is still the same.

I know New Baltimore ---- isn't it where the Air Force Base is? Or like the last exit on 94..........I just remember we had to pass it to get to Port Huron.

Where is your son heading after graduation Wendy?

Hi Ken's Mom - my folks had a place in Port Huron - actually it was Deckerville - right on the water ......such fabulous summers were spent there.

I love Geraniums - 90 wow, those are going to be beautiful!!! Welcome to the new members :-D Kelly, if you go to the Michigan Co. map above that Lisa created - you can see better where everyone is. I know Garden City well but I live in Atlanta now.

I am working on a trip to MI in June, visit all the family, attend a wedding and stay in town long enough for the Frankenmuth gathering. I can still smell that chicken!!!

We were in GL last year at this time for our son's PIR...a year later, he is still in school but doing well. I have brunch scheduled for tomorrow with our Navy moms in this area - we have some wonderful moms here too :-D

Good morning everyone! It's going to be 80 here the next few days, talking with my Michigan family - it sounds like you have nice weather coming your way as well.

Sheila darling...we were on our way to PIR...one year ago today...where has time gone?! So glad that we've met in the process and we are still in this together :-D I think you owe me some photos from someone's recent homecoming!

Joyce, I agree with Ulli GET THERE EARLIY. When we went to Rob's PIR there where 940 sailors graduating and that is about the average per week. Multiply that by the 2 plus per sailor and you can see ther are alot of people. How are you going to Chicago? We took the train from Port Huron over and it was very nice, got the metro right at Union Station to where we stayed. we did rent a car up by the base so we could take Rob around but driving in Chicago is nuts, Where aare you staying at? There are very nice motels all around the area of the base so have fun.
How is everyone enjoying the rain today? Only a bit over 2 months till our gathering. I can not wait to meet everyone. Rain or Shine we will be there See you all in Frankenmuth....Paulette

Joyce, Enjoy the graduation, I think but check in the PIR group that if they are a grad and go but staying at GL thay may still have some time with you. It depends on how they are set up to move across the street. He'll know more closer to the date. Don't forget to get to the base early. We got there at 6:45. the lines form early and they let you into the hall at about 730/800. Its first come so the best seats go fast. You will have a great time.

So proud of the courageous job our Sailors have done rescuing the captain from his captures. Praise God that none of the Sailors or the Captain was hurt or killed.
