Paulette - it's cold in GA this morning too...10 degrees now without the windchill. I suspect that is better than Groton but geeeeez it's cold today! I suspect he must be heading to Kings Bay. It is so far south, they should almost consider that base Florida. It's about five miles from Jacksonville so he maybe a little warmer there!

Good Morning to all my Michigan friend. OMG is it cold!!!. Temp is -7 and feels like -25. Rob got his orders this past weekend and is schedualed to be in GA around the 9th of Feb. He is so looking forward to getting out of CT. Likes the school at Groton but hates the cold. He was home for Christmas and it was sure nice to see him as who knows where he may be next year. Well have to run. Stay warm

Wow ladies, we do need to win the lottery to visit our sailors...geez Australia, Japan and Hawaii! Let's just send care packages and prayers to Afghanistan.

Our son was born in Japan and he is on his way to C school on Monday, it won't be long before he will find out what ship he will get. He wanted Japan, we wanted him to have Japan but now the closer it gets...the colder MY feet get and we loved it there! I just know we won't be able to see him as often as we'd like but I won't even suggest that he tries for a stateside ship if Japan is what he really wants. Got to learn to let them grow...or so I keep telling myself!!

He is home for the holidays but it is his first time home in 10 months - it's been nice while it lasted!

My thoughts and prayers with you and your son. My SIL (in the Air Force) is tentively schedule to deploy to Afghanistan in February. Not sure when yet. I sure can relate to both of you Kathy's. I wish I had the finances and extra free time to take the trips I need and want to. My son is stationed in Virginia Beach with the Navy and SIL is stationed in Little Rock, AR. I plan to visit both this year, just pray that Luke will be back from Afghanistan when I visit.

We lived in Japan during our Navy days Kathy and loved it. Which base will she be stationed at? Wow, is it 3000 miles from MI to VA - tell me that is round trip? Right? Still a long road trip but with your daughter...it must be priceless.
