Uli, Thanks for the link. Yes, we go to Papa Vino's on 28th Street. My favorite dish is chicken scallopini and I have never seen it anywhere else. It's a very nice, reasonably priced Italian restaurant. Being almost 2 hours from Grand Rapids, we plan our trip to Papa Vino's ahead of time.

Ok so lets all bring something to make up a or some care packages.  I'll take care of everything else.  That is if you want to.  So with the Sailorwomen, should we send ladie things and something chocolaty that does not melt?

Happy Birthday Ruth!!!!  Hope you have enjoyed your day and your evening

Nicely said Uli!!!  She didn't even stay on key - going for all that "fluff" singing.  That Eminem commercial was fabulous.  Loved seeing the Fox Theater.  Dunesmom, you are a hoot wanting to escort the cheesecakes in.  Keep your fork at your own plate!!

I'm thinking Christinia didn't practice, probably thought she didn't need too, it was very sad.  I'm cool with care packages also.

My heart is happy for that Eminem Chrysler commercial.  Such a cool commercial, and such a great, positive showing of Detroit--not something that happens often enough.  Loved it!

I've got no words for how the National Anthem was sung last night.  My heart is sad.  How much did you practice Christina?

What's a Papa Vino day?

Happy Birthday,  Ruth!  It's kinda slippery out there.  I was on 28th Street until 5:30 and drove back up to Rockford.  Wow, the further north I drove the slippery it got.  I had a hard time getting up Summit (it's by the dam, goes up that big hill to the left).  It'll make bus driving a little interesting.  I'm good with care packages.  Dunesmom, do you want to head this portion up?  We could use our own Sailors addresses.  Get ready for some cold weather.

Ruth VH - should have thought to post my Papa Vino's trip sooner! That would have been fun. I'm not sure if I will make it on the 26th, but hope to.

Dunesmom - Ruth gave some good tips for packages. Since you have to address them to someone specific, It's also a great idea to go through a group that has some names and addresses. The large flat rate box to APO/FPO addresses is only $12.95 postage (and even cheaper if you do the postage online at usps.com). A customs form is required. Collecting items at the M&G is a great idea.
