This weather is wacky! Hubby, Kevin leaves about 5:30 every morning and yesterday he leaves and in minutes is back to say that Korey's car has a flat tire so he has to take my car which is a Expedition. Korey, who is 16 drives Kevin's truck because it has 4x4 and better for him on our rural roads. So, now we are down one car and I am home without one. On Tuesdays, Korey goes to pick up a friend who is over a half hour away and he had to leave at 5:15 this morning. They got back to our house about 6:30, he then gets ready for school. Kacy is already up and going and they head to school and they pick up another friend on the way too. I did plenty of praying this morning for them on our roads, they get pretty slick. We are on dirt roads and the ice can be really bad at times so this is where the 4x4 comes in handy. The kids were hoping for a "snow" day due to the ice, but I think we got more of the rain/snow mix. It's look pretty slushy out there when I let the dog out. When is spring again?????? Be safe everyone!

Just snow and wind here last night, but temps are up to almost 30 this morning.  Suppose to be a big cool off the next couple of days.  Had a nice snowshoe hike with hubby yesterday, then got back to the truck and accidently locked the keys in it. so also had a 1.7 mile walk back home.  At least we were dressed for it:)  Warming up the truck and off to volunteer at the food pantry in Benzonia, have a great day everyone, stay safe on the slick roads.

We had ice here overnight, but it was 35 degrees by the time we had to leave for school.  Hubby took Thomas to school, so if he says the roads are OK, I'm off to my women's Bible study this Am.

Katie called from Japan last night.  It was good to hear her voice.  I know she left MI just 8 days ago, but I rarely get phone calls - usually just lots of emails.

Keep warm - stay safe out there on the roads.

Slip sliding away here this morning.  I would rather have several inches of snow than layers of ice!  I'll repeat what Colleen said:  stay safe, everyone!

All I have to say is STUPID WEATHER!  Good thing is today is my light day.  Only gotta go 4 miles round trip 2 times today.  Rockford is on a 2 hour delay - might go closed.  Stay safe everyone.

Wow did the weather hit today school is closed.  but wouldn't you know it i didn't get the call til i was out of the shower.  I think lunch ladies should be called first:)

Got a phone call last night and Sailor is filling out his dream sheet.  Sounds like he might be changing his choice of jobs... now i have new things to look up to see what they mean.  not just AW but AWF or AWFE  No idea because when i went to ask him what all that ment his brother Sailors  came into his room and i guess it is sooo not the thing to do to talk with your mom.  Uh gotta go Mom and do some cleaning......oh some day, lol..

I'm with you, Uli, on the weather arrangements for our January get-together.  Let's all pray for at least a dry day.  We can travel even if it's cold.

To Kathy, Proud Mom of A Sailor!, I so glad to be in touch with another mom in Michigan who's Sailor is an ET. do you know if C school for all ET's is in San Diego? Just wondering if that's where my Sailor will go.

I really think today FC stands for Fridged Cold..... So good to have more new people come aboard.  Meet and great for Feb sounds like it's going to be a good one too.  I sadly will not make the January one because of the weather and distance.  If hubby would go it would be different.  So here's to a great time to be had by all.  Oh and my Sailor was in DEP for a good year also.  Just wanted to wait for the right job to open up.  His buddy spent maybe a month as he took what ever was available.  think he was ready to get out of the little town.  Stay warm Ladies!
