Hello MO! Welcome to jkcmom and congratulations to ceej's sailor. Welcome back to land for Josh! I can not believe it's been a year already.

My son will be heading to Japan early next year for a few months.  He is planning a trip home after that. I'm really missing him this winter but keeping more closely in touch these days so that's good. It will be a year in January since we have seen him.

Very busy on the Western Front in Kansas City.  My sailor got married last weekend and is shipping out to Guam on Monday.  Hopefully, his new wife will be able to join him soon.  We've heard lots of good things about Guam but it's a long way from home.  Starting to save our pennies for a tropical vacation sometime this year!

HELLO MO! Thought I'd yell to get your attention LOL. It's been so quiet on here. How are you all doing? Time to check in!

My son's ship is now back in Japan from deployment and he's quite happy to be back on land. Got my fingers crossed he gets leave and comes home this winter. It's been over a year now since I've seen him and even though he calls me a lot I sure do miss him and I'm in dire need of a Sailor Hug!!!!!

jkcmom - Welcome Aboard! Give your daughter a hug and tell her we're happy and proud she's made the decision to become a Sailor. Enjoy this time with her. There's a lot of emotions ahead of you (it's a roller coaster ride) but we're here to support you. Please ask questions and share your feelings. Glad to have you with us.

My daughter just went to MEPS on Monday.  If nothing changes, she will go to boot camp on March 18, 2014 as a Sonar Technician. I've been scouring these pages but now that she's official, I have officially joined.

NavyMom417, Where is your daughter now? Did you get to go to PIR? Will she be home for Christmas? I haven't heard whether or not my son will be home.

I would love to get together after the holidays--just not January 18--my daughters wedding reception is then...I live in Lamar so KC or Springfield is good for me--or anywhere in between--do we have a central point?
