Thank your Molly and Laura. I think I have handled Jake being gone fairly well knowing that my prayers will be heard and help him along the way. I have communicated with other Moms with kids in his ship and division who seem to be falling apart so I try to be encouraging and upbeat. I have never paryed so hard and often as I have these last few weeks......

Molly, I bet your on top of the world it's coming so soon. I'm counting the days for May 27th to come. I have never read such sweet words as I did last night reading Jake's letter. He said he did attend church and that it really helped so I hope he keeps going. When will you know if your daughter is grad & go. Jake was told before he left his A-school would be in Great Lakes so I'm assuming we have the whole weekend with him. Keep in touch and I would love to hear about graduation.....

Hello Sisters, My son Jake has been in BC at GL. This is his third week there and I still haven't heard a word from him. I was wondering if there was anyway to contact the branch president or missionaries with the branch there to see if he is going to church. I just want to know he is okay and attending church. And that the presious letters home will be coming soon. Anyone have that contact information and do you think they would even remember jake if he attended church?

Welcome Katy.......from all the comments I have gotten regarding the branch in Great Lakes I'm relieved Jake will be there. He thought it was cool when I relayed the information I got on to him. I'm looking forward to him getting BC over and being there for graduation........How are you handling being apart from your husband. That must be extremely chellenging......If you wver want to chat drop me a note.....

Thank you Laura, Marianne and Ellen! I'm so glad to hear your encouraging words. Jake has been active without too much trouble though he has stumbled a few times but I worry once he's not with us that will change. We have been trying to get him to go through the temple before he goes but he seems hesitant to do that for some reason. We go to a very small branch in Wisconsin and he has been the only young man till our other son turned 12 1-1/2 years ago. So he had the responsiblility to bless the sacrament for years and has done his home teaching and has even gone out with the missionaries. But I still worry. It's good to know there is a special branch there at BC and that he will be looked after a bit. Thanks again!

Hello Sister, I'm so glad I finally found time to browse through the many groups on this site. My son Jacob will be leaving for Boot Camp on April 5th. My greatest fear above all else is that he becomes inactive once he leaves home. Can any of you share stories of how it was for your son or daughter while in Boot Camp? Where there members in the unit? Any advice you can share would be greatly helpful.

I appreciate reading your comments here. I am having trouble putting my feelings into words, but some of you get close to what I feel. Most recently I appreciated Laura and racefanshan (Amanda's Mom)'s coments.

Happy New Year sisters.
I need to read Elder Holland's talk. I keep trying to convince my son to attend Sacrament Meeting occasionally. So far no luck. He suspects that he will be deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan. That scares me. I really would like him to be in tune with the Spirit before he finds himself in dangerous areas.
