we're in the 50's and 60's. I told hubby if we hit the 40's i'm wearing a coat! LOL warm weather is suppose to come in this weekend, 90, hope it doesn't bring more storms, we've had enuff! :)
Oh Anna! That sounds terrible - how in the world do you manage to always sound so chipper? Wait......Margarita therapy! Still - sending you good vibes and lots of prayers for the VA to make you a priority.
We've been hovering around 105 but the weekend is bringing 40 mph winds and a cold snap -- all the way down to high 90's for a couple days lol. In the meantime going outside will feel like standing in front of a blow dryer. Hope your monsoon brings you relief Spyder!
SailorMoon - my sailor is stationed in San Diego. We've enjoyed getting to know that city!
SailorsLlMom, Death Valley is gorgeous! My son and friends have done quite a bit of hiking there. Also, there's a Navy mom who makes beautiful personalized ribbons for PIR.
SailorMoom,
I was stationed at San Diego - NAS North Island, and I miss that city so much!!! I'd love to live there again but hubby and I realized when we wintered over there last winter, that we could never afford it anymore!!! Even food prices are so much higher!!! I remember back in the day when we would hear the weather report every day - - "late night and early morning low clouds"!!!!!
Spyder and Oleander,
I've been thinking of you two as I've been hearing about the triple digit temps out there!!! Be careful!!!
SailorsLIMom,
Check out Cafe Press. And just google Navy wear and you'll find many places. When my daughter had her PIR, we got to go to the exchange with her and I found Navy Mom t-shirts and a Navy Sister for her twin. (But now she's in the Navy too so I guess she doesn't wear her shirt much.) I always wear mine when I'm going to meet another Navy Mom. I hope the exchange still has clothing like that.
My hubby keeps us well stocked in Margaritas!!! I take pain meds every night just to try to get some sleep but it always wakes me up every hour or two cause I can't keep my knee in any one position for too long!!!
I am in Southern California and we have "June Gloom" as we call it.. A little marine layer hanging around but I'm not complaining! I will sign up for Margarita Therapy, though! I need it for this boot camp stress!
Sign me up for that Margarita Therapy! We're still having spring storms, tress down and flooding. Itching to go see that granddaughter again, but must wait till August. She's rolling over and talking.....I'm missing it all! Sure wish we'd sold out and moved. but either no jobs and then no jobs....nothing is lining up. Then the kids said wait until new commands.....UGG!
Wow there are Moms of Girl Sailors (should we call ourselves "MOGS?) from all over the country! There you are in the desert, Oleander! That's my favorite place: we go hiking in Death Valley every year. So looking forward to PIR and learning more about being a Navy family from those more experienced.
Are there any Navy-themed clothes we can buy to show support?
Anna, it definitely sounds like you may need margarita therapy until you can get to the VA again. I'm sorry your knee is still bothering you.
The heat's been turned on here in the desert... I'm with you guys - margarita therapy til winter!
Hi new moms! This is a great group, glad you've joined!
