I haven't posted here before. My daughter ships out on Wednesday. Didn't think it'd be this hard. Time went to fast. Had a year to prepare and feel completely unprepared.

Hi Ladies! Sorry to have been away for a bit. Well the going away party is done. How did the time go so fast!?! Tuesday she heads up to MEPS... We and her boyfriend will go and have dinner with her. Then of course Wednesday off she goes. What a crazy last few months!!

Here's hoping the next 9 weeks go as fast as the last 9!!

Hello Everyone!!  Sorry I've been MIA lately.  Thursday was my birthday and I just had a lazy day and then went out with hubby.  We are in a very small town here in Wyoming and yesterday we drove to the Grand Tetons and spent the whole day there.  Got to see lots of wildlife - a grizzly, a momma moose and her baby, and a herd of buffalo!!!  Today I'm resting up and catching up!!!

lovey,

I'm so sorry your daughter is going to have to deal with this.  I've heard stories like this before and it's never something us mommas want to have our girls to go through.  All you can do is continue to support her and be a good listener if she needs to vent to you.  Such a tough spot to be in!!! Feel free to come here and ramble and vent all you need to!!!

hellraiser,

Welcome!!  I'm glad you checked in!!  You can always share your feelings here and we'll give you all the support you need.  Bootcamp is the hardest because all of a sudden you are cut off from communication with your girl. I am very close to both my daughters (they're twins) and I was heartbroken when the first one left for the Navy!!!  Sending you cyber hugs {{{ . . }}}

MamaBear,

I had a submariner son-in-law for a couple years.  Communications are tough while they are at sea!!!  I know I could NEVER do that kind of job!!!  If that's what your girl really wants I wish her all the best and I hope it works out for her.  Kudos to those that can do that!!!!!

Hope everyone else has a wonderful weekend!!!  While I was checking in here I got a call from my Sailor Son!!!  He is back home after a stressful deployment!!!  I am so happy he is back with his family!!!!

Good morning all, welcome hellraiser, my daughter has been in the Navy for six years and is married to another sailor.

Lovey, good job on keeping your mouth shut. I find it is best to stay out of my daughters' marriages. ( I have three daughters). My youngest recently broke off her engagement to a lousier. I said nothing the whole time she was with him, she figured it out on her own.  Her Dad on the other hand, criticized her finance. And she don't talk to her Dad much, but she talks to me.

Yes, moms intuition generally is right....I'm sorry she didn't give you poa instead. Hope sil straightens up quickly!
Welcome to new moms...be sure to wear red today. Prayers for all involved in TN tragedy. Sure wish our military could carry....not be sitting ducks!!!
Have a great weekend!

Lovey - I can not imagine what you're going through during with your SIL while your daughter is in boot. It was such an emotional time for me, particularly because of the lack of communication. Prayers that by her PIR things will be much better. sending hugs.

Hellraiser - this is a fantastic group where you will get lots of support and good advice. My daughter just graduated A School on Tuesday. She's still in the GL waiting for her written orders but will be home on leave soon. Believe it or not soon you'll be in the same place! It seems like forever during the process and then all of a sudden she'll be completing her training. Write write write. She'll need to hear from you and it will help you feel like you're talking with her every day.

Happy Friday everyone.
