Good morning everyone!
Good Morning to Everyone.
We are almost to the weekend. This week has really be long.
Blondie, I am glad you can at least see the ground again. Hope it all dries out but not becomes a desert.
MomOf4 - my son loves it in San Diego, He loves the weather and going to beach. He is from New Hampshire and we lived in Buffalo for a couple of years so he is really enjoying the weather. I am hoping my daughter gets stationed in Virgina which is where I live my luck they will both end up on the West coast.
AbsMom - My daughter is also going to be a CS after A school they can choose to take a short leave or go straight to their duty station. While they are in A school they choose first second and third choice. If they rank it the top of their class they usually get their first choice. Thats what happened with my son. He went thru bootcamp and A school in October and November.
Is your daughter currently in Boot camp? When did she arrive?
Good afternoon!! Thanks for letting me join your group! I have a question regarding their duty station assignments post A school. How many are assigned a ship vs a station in the states? I am prepared for a ship, but wonder what the probability is. She is CS and I have seen several posts where the kids are being stationed in the states. Thanks!
Hi jappyjship14div375 she will be on the Essex LHD2 as an EM. Her PIR was 1/24/14 and she is SO ready to get out of Great Lakes, IL. We are from Tennessee and the weather up there is killing her. I suppose San Diego will suit her better! She has several friends that have been sent to SD so she is very pleased.
MomOf4 my son is currently serving in San Diego he is a CS on the Karl Vinson he had his PIR 10/05/13
Hi Y'all! I know, I know you all thought I died or just vanished but no, I'm still here. Life has been crazy and I havent had time to be on the computer but I wanted to say hello to everybody. I miss having the time to chat, I'm going to try to do better. Ashley is getting ready to graduate A School and leave Great Lakes (finally!). Her orders are for San Diego which makes her very happy and momma sort of sad because she will be the entire way across the country from me. This is what she wanted and she actually got the kind of ship assignment she dreamed of so life for sailor girl is good. It sounds like life has really been moving on for everybody! The weather in Tennessee has been H.O.T. maybe I'll get to experience California weather one of these days. Nice chatting to you. I have promised myself to get on every morning and at least say "hello"!
