Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

I agree when this is all a new thing, and there is so much to learn, this is a great resource. So much information here and met some great people along the way too. My diver son is currently in SD. Loves his job.

WOW, 22 years Dolores. That is terrific. Many thanks for his commitment and dedication. I know my diver loves his job, I can see him staying through retirement ~ but we'll see, he is only 22 yo

My diver graduated from dive school in August 2011. He spent three years at NAS Jacksonville and is in Rota Spain for two years working with EOD.
The dive community is very small mand pretty close-knit. I treasured this site in the very beginning for the info and support. It is still a great place to communicate. Like another navy diver mom said "we are pretty seasoned now."
Please know we are all still here for continuing support and info.

I am new. My son leaves in September for boot camp then off to diving school. I would love to see more activity on this site. I am on the navyformoms site all the time right now - getting prepared for the big send off.

Are any of you also on the FB "Navy Divers Family Support Group"? There are several newbies (from meps to PC) but there are also a few that have certified divers. I'm 2 1/2 yrs in with my Diver but it's still kind of nice to connect with other spec op moms.

Marie- I agree with Caron MS. Used this site very much back when things started, now 5 or so years later, we just know the drill--so to speak. When I went to sign on to answer you, I couldn't even remember my password....

I guess we've all learned to adjust more or less to our sailors being gone. Mine is still in Honolulu, his second assignment there. We have three more years of trips there to see him. Right now we're planning a family trip to be there with him for Christmas. Yay!!
