This weekend turned out great - i got his mailing info on Fri and a surprise call from him on Sunday

I came home Friday and had his information letter with DIV and PIR date.  I was so excited to be able to mail out his letters with a Valentine's Day card on Saturday.  Then yesterday i couldn't believe that he actually got to call me.  He said his group got a reward for something and each got a 5 minute phone call.  Wow!  It was the best thing that could have happened - you don't realize how precious 5 minutes are until something like this.  Made me walk on air the rest of the day :-)

how exciting! Thats a very special treat! My hubby called me at 530am this morning, i was exhausted but I never turn down the time to talk!
yes - those 5 minutes meant the world to me :-)
You are so lucky! congrats! have you found out his PIR date yet?
My hubbys in Haiti...he has been in the navy since we graduated highschool...hes been in for 8 years.
when did he go to haiti and has does he like it that much to stay in for longer?
his crew left the day after the earthquake. He enjoys what he does and hedecided to make t a career soon after he enlisted. Its a great job. He will retire at 38! He is able to provide for our family now (pay, medical insurance, and my schooling) and he will continue to be able to through the navy even after he retires. H was single most of those first 8 years and he struggles now becaus of me being away, but we both decided this is the best thing for us. I fully support the NAVY but I hope the next 12 years goes by fast
i got the informational letter on Friday - his PIR is scheduled for Mar 26;
He said that he has to have his wisdom teeth taken out - ouch! I don't know if they will do that during boot camp or after? If they do it during boot camp then I'm wondering if that will put off his PIR to a later date?
I hope it doesn't have to get pushed back for him, I would think they would wait until after because I dont think wisdom teeth are that serious, unless they are causing him pain or something. What kind of good stuff do they have to do to get a phone call? I hope my bf and his group does something good soon!! lol
I'm hoping that they will wait till after boot camp for his dental work so his PIR is right on time. I'm not sure what they did to earn the call - i was so surprised though! Now it's just wait till the next time and keep watching the mailbox for a letter. He did say that they (I don't know if everyone - but I'm guessing) got to go get a Valentine's Day card to send. Hopefully that will be coming any day. . . .First thing I do when I get home is check the mail.
I check my mail about five time everyday because i live in a dorm and dont know when it comes lol. I do remember my bf saying that I would be getting a card and that i should reply to the address on that! I have three valentines day cards to mail lol, I got him a serious one, funny one, and I am going to make him one lol. I guess that is a lot but I couldnt pick one lol
Hey congrats on the phone call i hope my bf earns one soon im still waiting on the form letter should be here this week hopefully....tomorrow would be nice lol that would be really cool if they all get to buy vday cards so us ladies will have something from our bfs for vday lol hope they hold off the wisdom teeth if their not bothering him then it shouldn be a problem i had one take out two days ago and he does need rest but if they do tak ethem out i dnt think they will hold him back i work at a dental office allyou need is a day rest and your good to go.
