We live in PSL. My son is home on leave right now. He has been in 3 1/2 years and every time I see him...well he is all grown up! Still cry at every hello and good bye, just not as much. If your son leaves June 2011 then we know someone else here in PSL who will be going then too. I am sure they are in DEP together. It is a GOOD choice he has made (just keep telling yourself and him that when he calls from boot camp lol)
I live in PSL. My son Blaise has been in for 8 months now.He is in the Nuke program. I'm thankful that he is currently in Charleston and we drive up and see him every 6 weeks. It's not easy when they first leave for bootcamp, but just be supportive and give lots of encouragement.
Hi Shawn's mom, I too live in Port St Lucie. My son left for boot camp last November and is currently in Goose Creek at Nuke School. This site will give you so much support and information, it is what helped me get through boot camp. We are all here for you when you need us. Good luck to you and Shawn.

I used to live in Stuart area. We still have our house there but live in Boynton Beach area now. These are big steps for your son. My son has been in for around 4 1/2 years and is on the USS Harry S Truman. His ship is in the Arabian Sea right now. It has been good for my son and I think your son will like it. Let me know if you need anything.
Hi, I am also in PSL, my son has been in bootcamp for 4 weeks now...been difficult, but I am getting through it.  Already have plane tickets and hotel reservations!!  Looking forward to PIR!!

Hi, I live in south Stuart.  My son left 2/8 for boot camp.  Its been very hard for me.  No one close to me has a son in the service, so Im a bit emotional, and feel a little bit alone.  This site is great.  Just learning my way around.  I too just made our flight reservations.  :)  So anxious to see my boy, my sailor.

Sorry guys, I haven't been on in while! Well my son just left on Monday for bootcamp. I haven't heard from him :(. I'm dying to get his box, so I will know when graduation is and I can start mailing him. At navymompsl mom, how is he surviving ootcamp? Its so cold there now.
He is doing good, not liking the cold weather much, though, lol...he's a native Floridian...His division is the worst on the base and he is bummed about that, but just trying to keep it together so they can graduate on time!!  The letters are slow in coming, and the phone calls few, but we are almost there!!
What makes his division the worst? W
hats his rate? My son is corps.
My son is also corpsman, It's not him, it's the division as a whole.  They haven't been able to come together as a team, and that is the goal in bootcamp!!
My husband and I live in Port St. Lucie and our daughter serves on the USS Nimitz CVN68. She and her mates arrived back in the States last year after a 9 month deployment. We were fortunate enough to be there when the ship arrived back home to CA.  It was amazing.  I am so proud of her...and all the other soldiers serving our country.  God Bless all our children serving.
I am from Stuart. My son has been in about 2 1/2 years now. He is a nuke and just got to his first sub.... He went in a little older than most but is truly enjoying it!
