Paymaster it is a lot easier then it looks. A simple 9 block pattern stitched together. Something anyone can learn. The center turtle was originally part of a quilt but I decided that I didn't like the color of varigated thread I used so I redid them in green and so had extra blocks. The color blocks were just from my scrap pile.

JM....Oh my the turlte is beautiful!!! I will never be at your level. I wish I had your vision. My best friend and soul mate lives in Texas and he rescues sea turtles in the gulf. They have been on watch with the oil spill. He thinks they will be very busy. He would just love this one.

Ok , thanks for letting be talk about me friend.

Latest finished project. Love sea turtles and really happy the way it turned out. Wish I was keeping it for myself, but it is a gift and will enjoy giving it up.

AM...I like the idea of doing the Navy 4 moms, 2010 as the embroidery instead of a label.

Ok Eaglemom there was a drop in the program. Didn't know you were coordinating the material for the Irish chains, so I went out today looking. Actually picked some up. Posted the information on the Sailor quilt discussion.Hadn't heard from anyone. I am more than willing to do Netta's blocks, I will send you my address so that you can send the other material.

Netta so sorry to hear your news. We too have a elderly cat that belongs to our sailor and we dread the day we will have to tell her she has passed. It too is 18 years old and it is sad to hear her cry with missing her owner. A lot of extra attention in needed at times. Take care come back when you can and we will keep you up to date on our guilds progress.

Netta....I am so sorry you had to make that very hard discussion to let Smokey move on to his maker. The loss of a love one (human or animal) is a life changing event. One never knows how much it will effect them.

Bless you for giving so much and loving so deeply.

The best words I can share with you is let those around you love you, share in your grief and let them shoudler some of your emotional load. The best any of us can hope for in a time like this is that you will learn to live with the loss a little better each day. No one can ask or expect more.

Take care of your self. Make sure you are drinking lots of water, try to find a few minutes of peace with yourself each day and its ok to talk about Smokey and cry. Just remember that Smokey is not suffering, he is in a happy place and playing as he once did when he was young.

Navy mom hug!
